This is the original idea.
Sketched onto a small pad. The sketch was then taken into the computer and manipulated there. The object was to simplify the original idea. This image is the simplified version of the original image. Then it was taken a step farther into this logo. The final result |

This is the same Magnolia from my first share of the sketch.
This has the photograph, a 4 color study and then a Mandela created in Illustrator using the Magnolia in the design. |

This image began as a basic sketch.
It was then used in 2 separate designs after the sketch. I used it to create a stamp for inking. Then in this image where three separate mediums were used to create one final image. The mediums used were: Markers, Watercolor Pencils & Acrylic Paint |

The last one for now.
I put 60 hours into this one. This is a stipple in ink. (All ink dots) I used 5 different ink pen tip sizes throughout this one. This was my Stallion Chief at age 6 The art instructor at the college said when doing these remember that hair and fur are not going to be possible. Please take that into consideration when choosing your designs. Well, I love a challenge and if someone says it can't be done I do my best to prove them wrong. He came over to look at my work one day when I was almost finished with it and said: Oh never mind what I said about fur and hair. This is actually one of my most prized because of the work that went into it. |

The mighty pencil
Resting in my hand The blank canvas Lays quietly on my lap My mind wanders to deep spaces Searching for what will be Move the pencil towards the paper Make that first line It will flow from there Soon you will see the design |

This reminds me of the train in Summerland, BC
Oh how I loved the beauty of that place. One day I will return there and stay a little longer than 3 days! |
