This could be a good thing if he checks out! I agree with Missy. It could show wisdom in spending and looking out for your interest. so true. I had not thought of that.

. I heard the word competition.. so I came running over. . did I beat Dodo.. and Scooby.here Yup u won no1! Was busy watching my Wings get crushed by Bruins. Plus don't care about where she buys lipstick, just as long as some of it gets smeared on me from time to time.

It does not sound like he is competitive it sounds like he is one of those know it all's. If a man knows the price of lipstick he is either selling it or using it.The part about men being competitive well,no1 PhD beat me to the post but my dogs bigger than his dog JK

What is it with men? Why DOES EVERYTHING have to be a competition. I tell a guy I found a good price on a lipstick at Macy's and he jumps in with a competitor's offer from Walgreen's Cripes! I like the fact that you have a male friend you can discuss these types of topics with, and that he has shown initiative to investigate it for you. From the scenario you paint it appears he's sweet on you and may be trying to help you save some money. On the other hand, if it's his money being invested, he's too cheap and not your type if he doesn't get the ambiance factor up front. But, back to why men compete... The alpha instincts push them to lead and be the first... to get the girl, the food, the control of the pack. And we women wouldn't want them any other way...

You must be dealing with a MUCH younger generation. We, gentleman of experience, know better than to try to out shop a lady. Ladies are trained from a VERY young age, in the art of shopping. Men are called "impulsive & to quick" in many things. Men's shopping habits, prove that right. At least in that department.
