What do you think of long distance dating and relationships?
Personally I believe that it is possible though it does require a lot of commitment from both sides.
Please let me know what you think?

Long distance relationship can work only when the two agree, understand each other and above all truely love each other.they will have a means of communication, for without it love dies. For distance kill love too. I think that's why ADELE sang the song LONG DISTANCE is killing me!

Thank you for your replies.
A recent study did show that people in long distance relationships have more meaningful interactions which leads to higher levels of intimacy.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

It might seem silly to someone just looking for a mate and not their soul mate.

Ach, yer farter! Once in a blue Moon, maybe? In general, you would be better off dating closer to home? At least you could see that person on a regular basis and not every few months, or once a year, if you're lucky?

Long distance relationship works. It gives opportunity to choose from numerous singles for a particular qualities. However, it's difficult to prosper with the growing scammers.

not interested in being a mail order bride or having a mail order groom. Sometimes on sites like this people do get together. but it won't work unless one of them or both, eventually decided to relocate.

For the most part it seems to me they are the fantasy of those who want to come to the US...lol

I believe they can work, but it depends on the people involved and if they want it to work, it is not an easy option. However, you can learn a lot about each other by email, telephone calls and video Skype calls, and before you decide if you want to meet up. The down sides are the time and costs of travel and hotels if you do decide to meet each other if you live thousands of miles apart, and the possible long time between meetings. You certainly have to meet several times in my opinion before you really know whether they are the one for you. The question you must ask yourself before starting a long distance relationship is if you are prepared to relocate if your partner cannot, because if all goes well you will want to be together at some time in the future.
