If you had to choose between love or being alone what would you choose? being alone is a choice but1 life to short not to be able to have someone to share it with. It's not about sex! its about the good times spent together and enjoying the time that you have.

Alone...And who says we only have one life?
What if we have many? |

Alone...And who says we only have one life? What if we have many? Many SAY or believe that we have only one life; however, there doesn't seem to be much evidence one way or the other. I choose to live as though once is it -- but am open to other possibilities (given verifiable information) |

I admit it feels better having someone to share things with.
However, there's always a reason why I choose to be alone. I remember one friday morning, I felt doubly peed off, because apart from leaving the abusive ex, that morning, I'd managed to trap my index finger in a taxi door. Brilliant. So I really felt like I needed to cry that day. . My poor gran, having to listen to me. I was very much all over the place that day. |

I cannot imagine going an entire lifetime without loving, or being loved. I had no problem being 'by myself.' Sometimes you need to be. To look after yourself, to get in emotional shape to be acceptable to other human beings. I could also see staying that way. Not believing. Not trusting..enough. The other side, of course, is ecstasy, commitment, contentment and the sheer joy of companionship. Not a hard choice :-) |

Considering how messed up people are these days; I have already chosen to be alone over love but I have friends and family; so I really don't feel alone.

Considering how messed up people are these days; I have already chosen to be alone over love but I have friends and family; so I really don't feel alone. Living alone does not require a lack of love. Perhaps it is useful to differentiate between being alone vs. living alone. You and I both both live alone without being alone. Friends (and family in some cases) can provide satisfying person-contact (and love) without the necessity of cohabiting. Some who are "coupled" choose to live largely separate lives, others may choose to be "joined at the hip." A few choose to be hermits. It is personal preference, typically based on past experience. For much of my adult life I considered cohabiting to be all but necessary; however, over the past couple years discovered the benefits of living separate from others. |

It's not about sex! its about the good times spent together and enjoying the time that you have. You can have good times with friends, you don't need to fall in love for that. I think I'd rather be in love, but falling in love and having someone fall in love with you isn't a choice, it kind of just happens whether your ready for it or not. I've always believed that if a person can't find happiness while they are single and on their own then they won't do well in a relationship because they will be depending on the other person to make them happy. |

Being alone has its own advantages and disadvantages...I get to do what I want, go anywhere I want...it's just very convenient..but then again, when I think 20, 30 years ahead, I still want to see myself living a happy life with my own family
