no kidding
cops kill with guns
victims are killed with guns
offenders kill with guns
victims kill with guns

no one claimed otherwise,whoa whoa

the answer is still that most people kill their own kind

the answer is still that blacks are no exception to that trend,,,,

and the point of Mr Agnew remains, that it is an 'illness' that creates the mentality of those so comfortable with taking life,,,,

And who's to blame for their illness, as you put it?

White man and non-negros or Bush?

OOOOOORRR, should they take personal responsibility for their illness?

why does it have to come back to 'blame'

HILARIOUS!!!

considering the ACTUAL defition of bigotry:

stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

Let's make it really simple. That's S I M P L E.

Should the race that typically holds the gun that kills the black child dead in the streets of Chicago, take personal responsibility for their illness?

6-Month-Old Baby shot And Killed In Chicago
Tweet

A 6-month-old Chicago baby died this morning from injuries she suffered from being shot.

Jonylah Watkins

The gun violence in Chicago has reached an all-time low. This morning, 6-month-old Jonylah Watkins died from injuries she suffered following a drive-by shooting yesterday.

Chicago Police are reporting Jonlyah and her father, Jonathan Watkins, were inside his car yesterday when a gunman opened fire as Jonathan changed his daughter’s diaper in the front seat. The baby and her father were struck several times and listed in critical condition yesterday.

This morning at 6 AM, after hours of surgery, the baby was pronounced dead. One gunshot wound caused the fatal injuries, according to hospital spokesman John Easton. ”This morning, the baby passed away,” said the Rev. Corey Brooks, a spokesman for the family, “We have another tragedy in the city of Chicago.” Jonathan Watkins, 29, was shot in his left side and right buttock and sustained a graze wound to the face, police said. He is still listed in serious-to-critical condition, fire officials said.

The girl’s 20-year-old mother was at work at when the shooting happened. She had been shot in the leg last spring while pregnant with Jonylah, they said. ”She’s very distraught, she’s in a lot of pain,” Brooks said this morning. “They just got married several weeks ago. This is a tough time.” Rev. Brooks is adamant about finding Jonylah’s killer. “We’re going to help find who did this,” said Brooks, pastor of New Beginnings Church in Woodlawn, which is offering up to $5,000 for information leading police to the gunman. “We’re going to take back our neighborhood, we’re going to find who did this.”

The baby’s grandmother, Maryann Young, described the baby as a “fun-loving girl.”

what is personal responsibility if not acknowledging and addressing the illness?

dos the person with cancer not address their cancer? do they get caught up in trying to take 'responsibility' for having cancer or do they focus on living with and getting through the cancer, or even ways to cast it into remission?

again , EVERYTHING that isn't present is 'history'

but the histories of America or black people are usually recorded and celebrated to reflect the PROGRESS that has been made,,

not to record the atrocities they put others through,,,,

so yes, it is black history and AMERICAN history (since violence isn't strictly a black thing nor is killing children)

but since the young man was speaking about working towards solutions I fail to see the significance of continually refusing to highlight anything but the worst elements of society,,,

noway Illness?

It not because of an illness.
It is because of a corrupt soul.
In biblical terms, it is the result of people being spiritually dead.

infirmity: the quality or state of being weak or ill

2 Corinthians 12:9 - And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

indeed, we are body and soul, as much as the body can be ill, so can the soul,,,,

I have now watched this video three times this morning and keep coming up with the same conclusion...

another articulate speaker with nothing to say. He keeps stating the obvious questions but goes nowhere. He keeps saying he would talk about something but he only had two minutes.

So the conclusion that I draw from the whole thing...

And oh yes, I really loved that "Black Power" button on his lapel. So much better than a united States "flag" button for uniting the masses.

interesting

as a black man, his 'black power' pin, which I didn't even notice because I was focused on his MESSAGE, offends me no more than the spice girls girl power offended most grown men,,,

Where does the Bible say that a spiritually-dead person has a spiritual illness? Being dead isn't the same thing as having an illness.

Biblically speaking, black criminals are just as spiritually dead as white criminals, but we don't excuse the actions of white criminals by claiming that they have an illness.

you don't have to 'excuse' it, because it doesn't end up being the representation for their entire race

white criminals, are usually seen as white individuals

but to many of those same observers,, black criminals are seen as 'the problem with blacks'

when black kids kill black kids in shootings its black culture

when white kids kill white kids in mass shootings its just 'mental illness'

when black kids use drugs its their drug culture
when white kids use drugs they have an addiction and need rehab

,,,,see the difference there?

I watched the whole video also.

The man was race specific on a few occasions.

One in particular when he stated that, black children are being gunned down in Chicago.

My question was, What race is gunning down those black children in the streets of Chicago?

I got, well, white kids are killing whites.

Another question. What will it take to stop black children fron being gunned down in the streets of Chicago?

if you watched the whole video you will see that he equates gun violence to the 'illness'

curing that illness is what it would take, in the form of affirmation and reaffirmation of self value and self esteem

in the form of promotion of family and family units

in the form of increasing positive media representation of young people and minority families and communities

,, just to name a few

Guns can't do a mutha******* thang without an operator, no? The gun, chickadee, is not the offender.

And who holds the gun that kills the black child dead in the streets of Chicago?

A criminal or a citizen protecting him/herself from harm?

you are absolutely correct. I completely agree. therefore we must be very careful about whom is permitted to hold a gun
