I'm dumbfounded
I had a thread deleted becauase it was said to have contained sexually explicit or vulgar material. How on earth can a link to a web site showing the video of a commercial which has a gorilla playing drums to advertise a chocolate bar be described as yulgar or sexually explicit? It is also advertsed at ALL tomes of the day and is not offensive. Is this just a random case or is it the community moderation gone mad?

folks with no life hun...........I see no reason in the deletion process...we're all adults,if u don't like a topic then don't read it...plain and simple.

that is one of the reasons I would find it hard to even start a thread the fear of it being rejected, not into rejection

When you ALLOW PEOPLE to VOTE "WITHOUT" GIVING THERE NAMES.
THERE IS "NO" COMMITED THOUGHT BEHIND THEIR ACTIONS.. If WE have "THIS" ability to REJECT,,,WE should HAVE NO PROBLEM on WHY WE DONE IT...so OUR NAMES,,,OR ANYONE WHO WOULD VOICE AGAINST A POST,,,,"THEIR NAMES AND WHY, SHOULD BE SHOWN TO ALL. Are ya hearing THIS Mike and Van??? THIS is becoming a BIG issue with EVERYONE!!!!! |

just start it again. the folks who voted it down will be gone and it will pass. this moderation technique ain't perfect by a long shot. but mostly it has worked out ok. i'm sure you could appeal to the "powers" also - but why bother them when you can just restart.
go ahead! be obnoxious! you think you will surprise us?????

The thing is. If I post it again and it is again deleted, then I am more than likely to have my account deleted. And I'm not about to take that risk.
It just bugs me that such a harmless video can cause people to vote to have it deleted. If you want me to mail the link to you though, I will do, and then maybe see what happens if SOMEONE else posts it.

Do ANY of you ever vote "DO NOT DELETE"?
Beat them at their own game. I like think a thread is OK, I vote that way. Stops the "NAY" sayers in their tracks. Best defence, good offense. |

In theory the idea was a good idea, but now it seems that if anyone posts something that 7 out of 10 feel innapropriate it is deleted.
What next? don't post a funny poem in the jokes section because it is in the wrong section...................

He found NOTHING wrong with it and it has been reposted in General which is where I posted it in the first place. 'Talented Gorilla' Thanks Mike.
