there are some pastors and preachers out there who get a little greedy
but as far as the actual church establishment, they only have one
purpose

I've seen churches of both kinds. One church I went to was so NOT into
the money thing, they approached the neighbourhood school who donated
the use of their auditorium, since there's no school on Sunday anyway
lolwhich sure beats the cost of maintaining a church building. Church
isn't a building, it's the people IN the building. Not ONCE in that
church did I ever see a collection plate go around, unless it was
because one of the parishoners had suffered a severe hardship(home
burned down, major surgery for the bread winner in the family, and
deaths). That becomes a bit different because it is to help out your
fellow man, not because the church needs a new furnace or would like a
new stained glass window etc, etc...
To spend money on property is a throw back to the days when the only
Christian religion was Catholicism. The Catholic church enjoyed its
power because of all the land it possessed from all over Europe. In
those days land=wealth and power. I bet you don't know the REAL reason
priests can't marry. It has nothing to do with purity or being closer to
what Christ was like. Originally priests COULD marry, and since they
were part of the church, they basically owned the land the church was on
and the houses they lived in. What happened was they'd have children and
the priest would will the property to his offspring thus removing it
from the hands of the church. Church(-)land=less power. Thus the Vatican
had to put a stop to it and forbade priests to marry.
Oh and btw..that church I mentioned at the beginning? It was the best
and most fun church I ever went to. Everybody there was real and just
enjoyed the Word of God for what it is.

The church has expenses which are paid by the members.
If people stop going the money to run the church fall short.
So I don,t think that the church is abusing its members by simply taking
and misusing money.

If Jesus were here today he would walk through many of the churches and
throw the people out like Benny Hinn and the TBN bunch. They are a bunch
of money hungry pigs. They teach a false doctrine of prosperity and are
following the demons that serve men to fool others into thinking they
are men of God. God is not a bell hop that does what these men say for
Him to do. We are to have patience and faith in the words of the Bible.
We are not to allow those who preach a different Gospel in our door and
it is obvious that many preachers are not men of God. They have
interpruted the Bible to say something it does not. The Bible does not
need to be interpruted. The Bible needs to be believed. Yes the churches
are a bunch of greedy man made organizations based on the customs of
man. They just throw in the name of Jesus to keep the people fooled.

I never liked the idea of using wealth to convert the masses or to keep
themselves in power such as the Televangalist and the Vadican. I've
always revered people like Mother Theresa and other's like Peace Pilram
that don't use moneys to spread love and kindness. Of course they don't
get the popularity because we seem to glorify the wealthy. What if God
was one of us, just a slob like one of us. Who cares. If you don't have
the money, you don't get the honey.

They are money hungry and I dont believe most churches will see the geniune move and power of God. The bible says when Jesus Crist was burried and the law was burried with him the law included the tithe. The church threatens and promices blessings with this tithe but if you believe in Jesus you are blessed already. The new testament and Jesus commands us to give to those in need to poor and helpless and when we give to the least of them in the world we have given to God. The new testament also states your giving should be done in private dont let your left hand know what your right hand is doing and when you do your giving in secret your heavenly father assuming your believing in christ will reward you in the open. The bible says give with cheerfull heart not under pressure and with some capitalistic two time the son of the devil sayin give here and your life will prosper. People who are not saved can see how fake church has become. But 65% of christians dont read there bible so they will believe anything some tucked shirt and a tie would tell them. REad the book of Acts thats the recipe for church meeting together daily at homes sharing with those had not and teaching truth and with power of God backing it up. Not today no today some guy called a pastor puts together a 3 part teaching for 39.99 and it will change your life forever. Not my Jesus he went out his way to help thiefs sluts and the scum of that day and age and he even fed people after and no collection plate was passesdfor the offering wake up Jesus was the offering once and for all

there is one local church here that is really bad with the money. they even talk the little old ladies to leaving them everything in their wills and on their life insurance!!!! i went there briefly after i got back from college and i had a question about something said in the sermon. they had twisted something in the bible and everyone was "amen"ing and "hallelujah"ing. i was sitting there wondering about what was said. yes, i pay attention. lol and when i tried to contact the pastor about it, i never heard from him. he wouldnt take my calls and never returned my messages. so i never returned to his church.
