To be honest, I think as long as you use the forums, this makes a good social site. Sadly, alot of the regulars on the forums are not looking I have noticed. I haven.t met anyone from my area on the forums yet, The ones who are in my area nessage me but thats few and far between and Im not interested in those that do.

Maybe its my bad luck but this is a common complaint.

I don't think its the sites fault. I think its the people that are using all the sites out there.

I've just had a thought. My username is curiouschap. I chose it to illustrate that I have curiosity about having sex with a man, but it occurs to me that it may suggest curious as in weird.
I'd appreciate knowing how you readers would interpret it?

Thanks Journeyman, but I still don't understand why the lady found that remarkable. Am I being thick?

I've been around this site for a VERY long time.. thru it's transitions and growth(and name changes laugh).. and I've met some absolutely AWEsome people whom I now consider friends and 'extended'family.. I've even dated a couple of guys from the site.. I've done this by being involved in the community/forums.. AND by just being ME!! silliness and all.. but it still takes time to get to know people.. just because we're online.. doesn't mean it goes any faster.. so take your time.. as they say "Rome wasn't built in a day" and like other posters have stated.. "get involved in a topic" or create your own (as you've done here) but most of all.. have FUN!

welcome to mingle2 drinker

I don't understand why people are so afraid of making contact with anyone on this site,or any site. When I go out in public I talk to perfect strangers, because that's my nature. It doesn't hurt to be friendly.I think that's a big problem today.

I too have been on Mingle for awhile. Had a 2 yr. relationship with someone off this site, (even relocated to be with him). Have also met a handful of friends I have made by getting involved on the forums. I did take a break from Mingle for a couple 2-3 years...before then members were organizing 'Mingle Meet and Greets' near their hometowns, (not sure if that's still happening or not). Like Zero stated...it takes time.

I think if you met someone you really hit it off with, distance would not matter. I've heard stories about it, and it has happened on here. I can jump on a plane & be anywhere in the US in 3-4 hours or less for under 200 bucks. That seems like a small investment on a chance to meet someone who could turn out to be the love of your life happy

I agree with you Journey; no problem there, the problem lies if the one you want to meet is over 4,000 miles away and the ticket costs a mint, and you have to get permission from the government to go there, and then even they cannot promise you a safe return. That is a major problem, don't ya think?

Yes Missy it would be a problem, but like I said, it has happened! If two hearts meet & fall in love, no distance would keep them apart. yes there are many obstacles to overcome like money, visas, culture, etc. but I think the OP meant just meeting up in general & it's hard to find someone in your same town on this site. I hear that over & over, so mebbe a chance & some travel might prove to be well worth it! I would be willing to take that chance, how about you?
