Hello my brother Solace !
Blessings to you and yours...
From a Christian point of view
This is what i see written on this question...

Do angels have wings? If we can generalize then we might say that most modern Christians would say yes to this question. If we were to ask what evidence there was for such an answer then we might struggle to receive a response. Some might turn to the renaissance painters, some to church history or story books. However these are not sources of Divine revelation. The real question is What does the Bible say about this subject. We hope to open up its pages and examine it's teaching in the forgoing article.

I am personally Spiritual leaning toward faith in Christianity
And many good practices in other faiths as well
I DO bELIeve in Angels
For reasons i can't deny..
But i tend to think some hide them well...
{Their wings}
Happy Holidays my friend !
Be Well...

I guess someone came up with it cause angels appear and disappear into thin air, as if they could fly, and flying means wings?

Happy Holidays my friend !
Be Well...

too soon, my friend, way too soon!
(so get them balls out of the tree and wait at least another week with your happy holidays!)

Blessings to you too brother :) yeah many modern christians would say YES to this question, but they couldn't say why angels have wings....You know,i always see christian books paint the spirit being with wings....Now,i do wonder, since there is no distance in the realm of the spirit,do they use those wings for movement? Spirit could go to anywhere without wings, you know...Happy Holidays brother Kik! :)

Well in primary source documentation for the kind of beings being referenced (hebrew scripture) Daniel's angels (Gabriel, Michael) were visions involving figures that were archetypes within a presumably holy message (the vision itself).
On the one hand Daniel gives them manlike status (ishim, low ranked angels), yet on the other Gabriel is a strict representation of YHWH in earliest scriptural references (a kind of warrior-jesus figure leading soldiers into battle against Israel's enemies), whilst Michael is given the awe and wisdom of Elohim (the divine), the two together are essentially the composition of God. That would make them very high ranked angels indeed.

Gabriel had wings in the original documentation. Michael did not but it's fairly likely he was attributed with abilities such as travel by thought.

What is important however is to keep in mind that these passages are intentionally part allegorical, being quite literally describe a person's vision at face value, not actual beings that walked up and knocked on the front door.

There are Angels and Archangels, they are always in pairs. Many many people on this planet have in fact been Angels themselves. The reason they are here is to help mankind. However, when they decide to 'fall' as it is called, they lose a wing, and are left with a small stump, this is called a 'nub' and it denotes, they have left their 'partner' behind. Sometimes the partner joins them, then they lose both wings and have two 'nubs'. That does answer your question, but will try and find out the answer for you.

Anyone is free to imagine that angels have wings, do not have wings, have wings sometimes but not others, are usually invisible / undetectable but become visible other times. Some believe that angels are real entities associated with one of the popular "gods", while others consider them imaginary creations of human imagination.

Whatever works for you.

The only place I can think of angels if that's what they really are that has wings are the ones over the Mercy seat of the arc of the covenant. The arc is a replica u could say of whats in Heaven and John said he saw the arc in Heaven. Michael is a warrior angel and Gabrael is a messenger angel. Like Rafael is a Healing. Thiers only 7 angels I know of that are named. their are fallen angels named like satans name is Helel. not Lucifer. I have always wondered why satans name has been covered up.

I have seen angels in the sky. I even have pictures. Yes they do have bird-like wings mostly in the center of their back. They also have very elongated hominoid heads. I do not talk about angels very much because there are such people that like to argue.

I think the origin of angels and wings could be traced to isaiah chapter 6...check it out

I am not here to convince people and nonbelievers do not understand and therefore will try to disect and mock my pictures. I have decided to keep the pictures for me and the group of friends that witnessed them with me. I only show them to very trustworthy and close friends. I am sorry.

I believe you jesusprincess because I think religion is in ones heart and mind.Jesus, angels, will show themselves to different people in different ways. Maybe wings,a begger, a song , a bird flying above, for myself sitting at the ocean looking out has made me reach deep inside and question my life and the afterlife. The good lord works in mysterious ways for sure. Keep the faith stay true to who you are and what you believe. smile2
