Topic: (Almost) new year, fresh start | |

Close to the new year I suddenly found myself letting go of "old $h**".
I never do new year's resolutions, don't believe in that at all. But letting go of things that no longer serve me, does feel extremely good! Going to start on Mingle with a cleaner slate as well, deleted all the (pointless) mails, who viewed me-s and mutual matches, even the ones I liked, but didn't seem to respect me in the end. That leaves me with my friends, people I like, and people I do occasionally PM with. It was heartwarming that so many Minglers, that I never even talked to before, did wish me merry Christmas and happy holidays :) I'm gonna focus on that kind of energy. Nice people, positive and generous with Love. I have a very good feeling about 2014, I think it's going to be a good one! Anyone else here consciously letting go of things from last year/the past to make a fresh start in 2014? |

But clearly a baby is doing it! Always funny to see what grandchildren do to their grandparents (to be), hihi. Hope for me that moment doesn't arrive too soon though. My kids are still too young, AND I am NO WHERE near ready to be kept in line just yet. My kids are living on there own, I am single, I wanna enjoy being single and free for a bit |

Theres a belief {I think its chinese} where they say that whatever happens on New Years Eve is basically how your whole year will go.
So have your house clean, give lots of hugs to your children, smile, eat healthy and take a long deep breath and relax |

I personally never got the idea of new years resolutions. If you really want to change something then you can start it at any time you want. It could be 5 in the morning and you wake up from a nightmare and you can tell yourself I'm never having that dream again or I'm never eating what ever I ate that may have given me that dream again. hahaha
I also don't get why people have this conception that a new year is a new beginning. Last I knew I didn't die every year. So I'm still living the same life. But maybe I just get reincarnated every year and I just don't know it. lol I'm all for making changes when needed. Just seems silly that so many people such emphasis on new years. Hope your goal works out for you and I'm sure you can make it happen. |

I agree, so I never have done that either, and I doubt I ever will. For me at the moment it's more letting go of things/people that don't serve me or my highest good. Sort of like looking back and realizing what can be binned and what (or who) you gonna take with you into the new year. |

One of the things Joe Rogan has said in his podcast is that sometimes the hardest thing can be letting go of poisonous people. As you have talked about. People that just drag you down no matter what happens. It's especially hard if that person is related to you.

That's one of the reasons I had to bawl my eyes out this afternoon, reassess what's going on and what I want and decided it was time to let go of certain things, patterns and people. |

I have been doing this since this past summer, slowly but surely!
I need to step it up and get stuff done! I am a great believer in giving to charities things they can sell. It's a win-win solution as opposed to filling up the landfills with things others can use/wear! There is a belief that one must rid one's life or environment of stuff you don't use or need etc. to MAKE ROOM for "greater things" to come your way! I propose a CHEER to "greater things", more true friends and much LOVE and JOY in our lives for 2014! Here, here!! |

Yeah, I've been doing that too :) Cleaning up clutter. 2013 feels like the year of getting rid of clutter, letting go :) And I most definitely join your cheer for 'greater things', more true friends, lots of love and joy in our lives! |

Have you ever noticed how misreading one word can so drastically change the meaning of it? Like reading "And I most" as "And I almost" changes the meaning of joining that cheer.
