Will only give my cell number out to someone I am comfortable with and that takes time. The same with my email. Have given my cell number out once and do chat with that person now and a meet up is planned. Have given my email out twice, both of which I felt comfortable doing so. Time is the key thing here. Would never do that right away. I won't give anyone my number..because of tweo reasons. One, a landline can easily be tracked to a physical address...so, nope. Two...the 2 times i gave someone my number (before doing due dilligence)..somethimg came out shortly in the conversation that..had we chatted about more first, would have come out on the site, and I would have stopped the conversation right there. Of course, these clowns had to keep calling and one even left nasty messages... I had to block their number... So, I wait now.. If a guy is too pushy about it...I wonder why.. Saying "I don't like chatting on this site" or "I am not online much" are BS excuses... If that is the case, then maybe online dating is not for you. It all comes down to a level of comfort here. If you are not comfortable then by all means do not do it. But with me I was very comfortable the one time I gave it out and have talked with this person numerous times on the cell and a meet up is planned soon since she is very close in distance. This would not have happened if she would have asked for my cell right away. But after chatting a while on this site I felt comfortable enough to take it to the next level. If no one ever gave out their number to anyone ever, no one would ever meet and that would defeat the purpose of being on a site like this. A person has to be careful but also smart without sacrificing their own comfort level. And my cell is not attached to my physical address in any way. |

It all comes down to a level of comfort here. If you are not comfortable then by all means do not do it. But with me I was very comfortable the one time I gave it out and have talked with this person numerous times on the cell and a meet up is planned soon since she is very close in distance. This would not have happened if she would have asked for my cell right away. But after chatting a while on this site I felt comfortable enough to take it to the next level. If no one ever gave out their number to anyone ever, no one would ever meet and that would defeat the purpose of being on a site like this. A person has to be careful but also smart without sacrificing their own comfort level. I don't disagree with any of that.. MY issue was guys who push for it before the woman is comfortable giving it...(or the woman pushing the guy for his) By all means, once we've chatted a bit and found commonalities and feel a meeting is warranted..we'll exchange numbers... ("after chatting a while on this site I felt comfortable enough to take it to the next level.") But someone who pushes for my number for petty reasons like I mentioned, or "I just want to hear your voice"...they can go pound sand... You'll get my number..but not until we've chatted a bit and *I* feel comfortable giving it. P.S. You said: "And my cell is not attached to my physical address in any way." Cell phines *aren't*...that was my point. Land lines ARE.. as I said, I do not have a cell phone. |

I am of the feeling that if the other person just pushes the issue they are not one with honorable intentions. These types just want numbers so they can meet their quoto. They are not interested in chatting for any length of time and they show themselves for who they really are rather quickly. |

The last few times I logged on here I have had a few messages from guys just giving me their numbers and asking me to call or text instead of chatting on here. I dont like that, I want to first determine if you are real before I give out ANY info. Any one else get that? Do you risk it just to get to know someone?? It is a constant problem, and you can go back and forth with them wasting time or just do what I do. Tell them that your Herpes are acting up and now is not a good time. They will not ask you for your telephone number again.. you will never hear from them again. |
