Thank you so much that help, I see what you're saying. On top of that I hope others are reading this advice. I'm sure I'm not the only guy that has a hard time writing initial messages I think I'm Improving a little at time. I do read the profiles completely and when I send a message I do have interest them. I need to work on my writing skills and this really is helping see what to do right
Thanks

I just sent this one, what do yall think?

Hi I'm Dave cute dog, he looks like he's still a puppy. What kind is he? I see you like bikes do you mean motorcycles? I ride an 83 FXRT Harley. I'm born and raised in Mt. P lets talk
Dave

pfff read Lost' suggestions. And use punctuation and full sentences.
Now I'm real tired at the mo, but I thought you were talking about yourself "Hi, I'm Dave cute dog"
WTF?
I would have binned it str8 away
The whole message sounds very erratic. You are a cute dog, you were born and raised near a mountain (who cares?), you ride a Harley.
Sorry to be so not-nice, but bluddy ell.

Actually Dave, I think this reply is simple, it shows you viewed the profile and took note of the pictures, you stated that you ride a bike also, even if it is a Harley, and you've started a good intro to a further chat. I like it!

The ones I block without looking any further are the ones who start of "Hi" or "Hi, you're so beautiful, can I get to know you more better?" RED FLAG SCAMMER!

So I think you did good on that message. One thing though I would change is the last sentence to "I'm born and raised in Mt. P, would you care to talk? We might have more in common."

Overall though, good message. Keep it up!

I had a girl send me a message very simple "Hi how are you. Do you have any big plans for the weekend"

I replied with this

Thanks for writing. I'm good the weather is great. Going to put a few miles on the bike enjoy this while it's here. I was getting ready to go out for a little bit. Prob go to Woody's, triangle and buddy roes for some dancing. I like Ronnie's singing. I see you're an RN My sister is one as well, she works in women's dept. Are you going to the parade Sun? Have you been to our parade yet? It's a huge tailgate party from early morning til parade time. It's lots of fun. What are your plans for the weekend? you have 3 kids in 3 countries I assume it Military, what is that like? I'm sure they must always be on your mind. So have you been ragging on your friends back in Pennsylvania about the nice weather we're having? LOL By the way my name is Dave it's very nice to meet you
Dave

She's local I know she's knows the places I listed. I tried expanding the conversation some. I mentioned several parts of her profile. Here's the thing I recognized one of the bars she was at by a pic she posted. I didn't say anything so it didn't come across as me being a creeper

I think he is asking for suggestions NOT the "older member's" to put him down. I actually thought we responded to questions like this to help the new members?

I honestly try to answer every email I get UNLESS they say something rude and then I do not bother. If I am not interested, I still answer the emails and just tell them welcome to Mingle and I hope you find what you are looking for.
I think you just need to realize that not everyone is going to answer your emails. A lot of people do not get on here every day to check their emails plus some times people just do not answer because they are not interested.
I think you should just read their emails and start out very simple. Even if it is just to say something like: HI, I READ YOUR PROFILE AND IT SEEMS VERY INTERESTING. I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT DAY AND IT WOULD BE NICE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU. Something simple like that, if they answer back, great...if not, no big deal.
Good Luck in your search!!!

You made a very strong response to a message that you had little to go off so: "good job!"

Best of luck and I hope you enjoy the exchange :D

I dont really think there is any magical message or something... Messages are just to let the person know that 'I am Interested'..
n then let the girl decide !!

I usually reply if they are being genuine even if I'm not interested to let them know thank you and good luck in your search. I like when they read my profile that's why I have a cartoon for a main picture and a photo of myself on my profile so I can tell if they read it.I'm surprised by how many say do you have a picture of yourself? As far as Aquadave he is being genuine I would not be so concerned with word play different people pick up different vibes besides I live just north of Myrtle Beach and most of us down here are nice people.I'll buy you a beer during Harley week Dave!!

To be honest, I don't really care what a guy says to me in his first email, as long as he's not being a straight up perv or jerk about it, if I like him I'll respond. If he looks good, I'll respond. If I've enjoyed talking to him in the forums, I'll respond. If he's not too far on either side of my age requirements, I'll respond.

On the other hand, if I don't like how he looks, if something on his profile turns me off, if I've seen him make stupid posts or comments in the forums, if he's too old, or too young, or from a place I don't care for (ex. Nigeria or India, or some other states where I'd rather not interact with anyone from there) then I'm not replying to him. I've replied to guys who just said "hi" to me, because there was something about them that I found appealing. Also, I'm very, very picky....

In regards to you emailing them later after they initially ignored you, that reeks of desperation and there's no way I'd respond to someone who did that, unless I wanted to tell him what a tool I think he is.

So basically, there is no "magic message." I don't understand why this is so hard for guys, and some women, to understand. There is no one thing you can say that will make someone want to talk to you. For years I was all caught up with a guy who was a major ****ing *******. I liked talking to him. Why? I really don't know, but I enjoyed our conversations. I didn't care what he said to me, as long as he kept talking. So I really don't know what to tell you.

i definitely agree.. i don't usually respond to all emails/messages i received. i choose the people whom i'll exchange conversation with. there has to be mutual interest.

i even respond to a simple "HI" just to give it a shot. it will now depend on his/her reply if theres a chance to continue.
