People here like to talk about themselves and their opinions and some of them seem to think that by doing so they are going to attract a mate.

But hold on, most of these people live thousands of miles away and most of the local people on here don't bother with the forums at all. Certainly, the women that I've met through this site didn't.

Now, I've always taken the position that I don't particularly care what anyone that's just on the internet thinks about me because they don't really know me and that's somewhat liberating because if I'm not trying to impress anyone I can just say what I like and it's not really going to effect my dating prospects or social life.

So, you may say that I'm different in the real world or in private messages to women that I'm trying to chat up. Well, I don't think that's really the case but I've got to admit that I sometimes worry that I'm going to say the wrong thing in those situations. I mean that I've got nothing invested in relationships with people that are just on the internet and they don't really care about me. Certainly, they don't care about me in the way that they care about their real life friends and to them I'm just someone on the internet.

Who really cares then?

I think this is true for the most part, However I have become very good Cyber friends with some people that I do care very much for. You never know when they will lead to real life.

I am not here to date, so I am not trying to impress anyone or to find a date. However,it is interesting to have discussions about various things, which is why I'm here. And I have met some awesome people here, which is why I've stuck around.

So yes, I have cared about people here and I know some have cared about me.

I've been here along time and have made a lot of friends along the way. I have never butted heads with anyone. I know I've posted some stuff recently that you didn't care for but crap it ticked me off that it happened 3 times and I was so stupid to fall for it I shouldn't of probably posted it but you had your opinion which your entitled and I was rude so I apologize

I'm very open in real life and I am very open on the net. I have to be a bit careful with that at times, as sometimes I am too open. I have gotten hurt a couple of times as well. Seriously hurt too.
I still find it difficult that people on the net can be as fake as ***k while I am as real / open as can be.
You reap what you sow, but clearly the Cosmos sometimes has hiccups?
Must be a different Cosmic law at play. The one called "Crystal-learn-your-lesson!" But I flatly refuse to become fake.

Well, that's very gracious of you my dear but no apologies are necessary. I wasn't exactly tactful about the problems you've had with scammers and it can be annoying if you're upset about something like that and think that someone is making fun of you about it.

Years ago before I even went on dating sites I had people trying to scam me like that and I sort of believed that the first one was for real, or wanted to and I felt really stupid when I realised that it was just a scam.

Maybe when you can get to the stage when you can just laugh about it yourself though things like that stop bothering you, don't you think?
