Seems like all guys approach me with their witty pet names... Sexy, hunny, babe, baby, sweetie, Hun, and proceed to say things like "ur so fine" "u looks so hot" I'm sorry but I honestly can't think a girl finds that appealing... I'd like some opinions please :)

I dont use that kind of words in approaching ladies. I usually use "miss". But i think the reason why they use such words maybe because they wanted something from you? Things like that. That was just a "maybe" though. So, we might need some professional's advice here :) hehe..

I can't stand being approached with pet names. Especially at work. Honey, babe, sweetie, the list goes on and on! I find it very offensive. I never really liked pet names in my relationships either but there is a certain someone who has me answering to all kinds of sweet little pet names. Loving it too! :-)

I don't like those type of comments either, but I guess they think that most women are going to drool for a moment and then contact them immediately as if they were the first ones to mention those words. Heard them all, and they don't impress me. I think the guys who use these words and post six-pack ab pictures are especially funny as they think the only thing women are after are their bodies and we just won't be able to resist! Give me a great mind, heart, and soul any day of the week! laugh laugh

I think it's due to male hormones that make them say stupid things.

Luv all these posts! Thank u! I also find it offensive and feel like treated like I'm a piece of meat! As for the guy who said "u r sexy".... Ughhhhh! Did he not just read anything we wrote? How old was he anyways... But I wish guys would approach a woman with respect and just be normal! I don't even dig muscly men so if a guy with a profile pic of his abs sent me a little kiss... I wouldn't even view his profile.... Just a bit conceided for me...

I think its normal for a girl like you. I mean, it often happens to a woman who looks hot. It really attracts guys. Even I. But the only thing that I can tell you is that, Ignore them. They do not have enough patience :) ..

The guys who are after a girl like a piece of "meat" don't bother reading your profile, in fact, they hardly have anything of substance in their own profile. These types of men are after one thing and one thing only. They are looking to get "laid" and nothing more. "Conceit" could also be viewed as delusional as most of the men who call themselves "hot" are "not", in my humble opinion. I laugh and block. laugh

I think many times guys approach with these terms of endearment
Trying to compensate for their shyness ,insecurity, and lack of social grace
I myself am a social retard i think...
Often misunderstood in my intent...
And more often judged and rejected for some of the same reasons
I use these terms as well...but often with true intent
And merely trying to break the ice
By showing that i am a good guy in spite of the bigotry and misjudgements of those who are so quick to judge
Based on my social skills
Or lack of ...
Don't take it so personal would be my advice
Maybe once the initial awkwardness passes
You may find some of these guys to be genuine and truly loving hearts
Best wishes in finding the one who makes you smile...

We all know you are an exception KiK! We've gotten to know you and know your intent! Not so with the macho type of first response males. You have to admit, sometimes they just come on too conceited at times and disrespectful. laugh

Because they're stupid?

I don't like pet names either, I think they're juvenile.

The terms you are describing are called pick up lines for just that reason. Most women are susceptible to these lines because the terms lets them know that these men have noticed them and gives them attention that all of us crave at some point. The problem is that these words have become too common and the terms have been worn out. But let us pray for the less experienced and for those women who just do not know any better than to fall for this type of line. One remedy for this type of behavior is to give it to these guys right back. In response, you might say "oh thanks slick or player". You will find that these guys do not like the fact that you have recognized these words as "pick up lines" so quite a few get ticked off and move on to their next victim.

Not generally but then I consider the source of most males dating information and where I am at.

Heck I am thinking they do that on a dating site because they are talking to so many females that they can not remember everyone's names! I think it gets old if you keep talking to them!! I do have a first name and it is not Honey or Baby!!!
