I delete all the views of people I would not be interested in. Then the ones I might be interested in I copy and paste sentences from their profile and Google it. If any identical sentences occur in any other persons profile, I know they are scammers. Then, I submit the report by advising that they are scammers and the wording in their profiles is on other profiles with different names and different pictures. I copy and past the entire Google visible portion with the exact wording and if more than one, I paste as many as possible. Within about 3 days they are gone sometimes sooner. They do come back with different user names, but many use the same pictures over and over again. Time consuming to say the least, and it doesn't keep them off, because they always come back. Also, those I don't report I block if I see their English is bad and they claim to be from a country that has English as a primary language. I always block those that start with "Am" so and so. Also block people using two first names as user name and many of those who use numbers at the end of their usernames. Numbers are used to keep track of which persona they are using at any given time. I try to be part of the solution, but it really is somewhat futile.

but that 95% is just sweeping it under the rug

Just walked into a streetlight there as I was saying ' cheerio,' to my mate. Heads sore, but at times if brains were ****, i'd smell like a rose! Anyway, that's my gripe!

It seems like every fall the scammers get worse but then I figure they expect the holiday season makes people more vunerable. People spend more time on line when weather gets dreary. You will always get more "attention" before birthdays.

I have gotten where I report a lot more suspicious looking profiles.

I still think it comes down to just being careful. Have a good security program, cross reference the scammer ID sites, and just be really suspicious wait to give phone numbers which pretty much tells people your life history.

Most of the scammers are not that bright; people should be able to answer career appropriate questions. They should know basic information about where they say they live lol the weather on that day. If you keep track of what they tell you and make too many slips. Or they never quite answer questions you ask. Legit people are proud of where they went to school or been in the service if they can't answer basic questions rapidly in chat you know they are personas.

If I find someone that is particularly flagrant I won't just report them to Mingle but to the scammer sites. I figure it doesn't cost them much to swipe pictures but it is more expensive to keep buying more phone numbers.

I found that interesting about the # at the end as
it does make sense to keep track of each persona.
I also notice a lot of people in the forums do that
as well,generally with birthdays or age.
That is cool how you 'paste n trace' but it does
sound like it can be time consuming.
Well one could never accuse you of not doing your
part. Unfortunately it sounds like its just a mere
inconvenience for then though.
I believe if you report, then that pic can never
be uploaded again as mingle will block.
I've. had a pic pulled down that I couldn't put back, it seems that mingles acts swiftly and they will dismantled.

Yeah; I spend way too much time hitting the remove button. I don't even check the profiles; I just remove as most of the guys are 30 years younger than me. Its annoying as it takes time to remove them all. Too bad there wasn't a check box that we could mark off and remove them all at once.

or you send them mail with five questions and
none of them get answeed.
yes it doesn't seem very smart but I just had a thought, or question, what happens if I was blocked? If I clicked on their profile would it
show deactivated? Often if I ignore the mail or
nudge, then check them a day latter it almost
always shows deactivated.
So if that's true then they may block us after so many hours as they know we have been on line many
times/hours.
that makes sense as we know they like to work fast
that way you can't review the profile at a latter
time.
basically you don't show that your venerable
which would put their persona at a higher risk.
Its like fishing,and there is always easier fish
to catch.

That would be useful. Yeah, i don't look at them either, I just cringe and hope they don't try to email or nudge.

I do quite a FEW things, to make em pause and think.

After they tell me they need however much money to "come and see me", I retort with "Well, I need �100, 000, 000, so could you please lend me that amount? I await your response. I looking forward for hearing from you". Things along those line's. And they normally stop bothering me after that. Or I pretend to have really weird fetishes, and I ask the scammer if they would like to join me. That works also.

Not so, the same pictures are used repeatedly even if they have been deactivated for abuse. And they are used for people using different names, in different cities, and in different countries even on this site, not to mention others. They do not track the pictures.

Best to Google it, but some are RomanceScammers.com, Pig-Buster's as well as many others. Some even have pictures used in the scam, which I often see on this site. I have a good memory because I used to work in investigation and it was very helpful!
