I'm a furniture finisher as some of u already know.
Part of my job is mixing custom colors for costumers.
As a finisher a golden rule is always going a little bit lighter thatn the sample, so u just tone a little bit. If you go to dark you are messed up.
This week i mixed a color for a costumer, as usual i made a little bit lighter, but my boss was obsessed with having the color straight as the sample so we don't have to tone.
Well i did it, then i finished this huge cabinet for them on wednesday.
On thursday the costumer called saying that she changed her mind, that she wanted the lighter version of the same color. The version i made initially and my boss did not want.
This morning he told me that we needed to wash and sand down the cabinet to bare wood again.
So as u can guess i spend the whole morning washing the cabinet with lacquer thinner (even though i used thick plastic gloves my hand are extra dry).
And the whole afternoon sanding down the cabinet.
All thanxs because the son of a gun does not listen.

That seems like a lot of unnecessary work. Maybe for you things were better after you went home.
As for me, I was pulling into the driveway, looking forward to a three day weekend, when my child let me know that he had just hit a baseball through one of our windows (at least it wasn't the neighbors' window.)
