The Republicans are trying to save our future which is being lost to debt. The Democrats are trying to save political power by buying votes in the present using our future as currency. democrats I listen to want all americans to matter republicans I listen to believe only classes who can afford to pay taxes should matter It would appear you just want someone else to pay for everything. |

The Republicans are trying to save our future which is being lost to debt. The Democrats are trying to save political power by buying votes in the present using our future as currency. Republicans certainly seem concerned about debt, now that the Democrat is in the White House. Back when it was a Republican in there, they were only too happy to spend money, and give some more back to the wealthiest corporations. Now, they're all screaming like stuck pigs about the deficit they ran up, and cannot stand the thought of actually raising the taxes they cut under Bush. If we had the Pre-Bush tax rates, and not the two wars Bush started, we'd have no deficit and would be a several $trillion closer to paying off the debt. But, go ahead and pat your Republicans on the back for all their "trying to save our future." |

The only thing that would be worse than having only democrats or republicans to choose from, is having either party unopposed. Not a huge fan of republicans, but if they were to disperse, and democrats were the ruling party (without opposition), our country wouldn't last more that a couple terms.

I suspect you would be correct. Eliminating terms would be a very logical first step... Although they'd probably start by attacking gun rights, which would open the doors for everything else. |
