One of the comments to this video puts things in perspective.... Someone needs to produce a half hour or hour weekly reality TV/video show with all these surveillance videos of the perps beating feet for the exit as soon as someone in the shop produces a gun. Can't get enough of watching what brave souls these guys be when they are not the only person in room with a weapon. There will always be crime and violence, and thinking criminals care about the law is like trying to get conversation from a stone. The issue is whether we allow the misinformed/uninformed to make everyone victims thru ignorant regulation or to be able to make a choice for our own well-being or protection, as well as that of others in a shooter or some other violent and deadly situation. When/if the shooting starts, would you feel safer begging for your life or defending it? Who do you hide behind, a person who is armed or another frightened, defenseless victim? http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/09/robert-farago/defensive-gun-use-day-now-believe-us-edition/ |

SS, you are absolutely correct, but getting the pie-in-the-sky anti-gun dreamers to understand this is like trying to catch the wind in a net.
For some odd reason they want us to become like England with gun control. After gun control, perhaps they'll want to legislate bad teeth, body odor (odour), and warm beer. |

For every video you can produce showing some crime prevented by guns, you could probably find more crimes and tragedies committed by people with guns, and/or made possibly by the lack of regulations the gun lobby has fought against.
For example, with the latest shooting at the Naval yard in DC, the shooter had a history of mental illness, and was able to get a firearm, anyway. Personally, I have no problem with shop owners legally obtaining firearms in order to protect themselves, especially if they remain open after hours or are situated in high crime areas. However, that doesn't necessarily translate to loosening regulations for conceal/carry permits (which wouldn't apply to the guy behind a counter). I also see no reason provided for allowing high-capacity magazines, since the suspects in the videos you describe leave too soon, anyway. So, basically, which regulations do you see as OK? |

BTW,explain to me why the Watch-Commander told his SWAT-Team to stand down at the Navy-Shipyard and to not interfere? That shooting was another one that took place in a virtually Gunfree Zone! Marines there had Arms, but were forbidden to have Ammunition! All the Blood of those Innocents in those Gunfree Zones is on the Hands of those Liberal,Feelgood Doogooder Ignoramuses! |
