This is nicely done Tommy. I appreciate you making such an effort.
I tried to read the statement on your profile photo of moving from America to Ireland, but the photo is too blurry to make it out. It seems you have an interesting story. G. |

Thanks, GYs41. Here's a basic profile . . .
=== About The Author, Thom Carlisle ( Irish Tommy Moran, ) * To be informative, my "Moran" clan ancestry here in " The Emerald Sink " is both dated and strong. We come from up in the irish hills - in among the border counties, from inside the small country townland of "Drumgowla". Drumgowla and the surrounding county of Leitrim are both predominantly catholic strongholds. And, this is where all of our Moran ancestors are buried, all in one ancient catholic cemetery. I care for them there. And, I AM a proud catholic, although not overly devout. Still, Catholic and . . . proud. Anyway, it was way back there in the early 1900's that me grandmam, Eliza Moran left Ireland with her sister. Both set out via steamship over the Atlantic - to Ellis Island in New York, U.S.A. Once there they moved over to Elizabeth, New Jersey and took up residence. This is where me grandmam met me granddad, Robert Carlisle. Just as a point of reference, Robert's ancestry dates back to Ireland. Robert's grandfather was born in Ireland to irish parents as noted in my genealogical paperwork. Prior to this our earlier Carlisle's came from up in the border counties of Scotland. They eventually found their way over here to Ulster and then, at one point, the Carlisle's uprooted from Ireland and ended up following the same path across the Atlantic - to Ellis Island and ultimately Robert settled in Elizabeth, New Jersey and met and married Eliza. So that's the story now. Although Eliza only returned home to Ireland twice over those years, she stayed in touch with her mother, Bridget, whom I take after the strongest. ( I am afterall a Moran not only in appearance and by blood, but also . . . based on me legal irish citizenship here.) By the way, up in the border counties our family clan gained the nickname of, "The Red Morans". This, specifically due to our red hair. Anyway, Eliza would return home to Ireland and stay briefly in our old thatched cottage in Drumgowla and then return back to Robert. On a final note, my 'calling' to come home to Ireland comes from Bridget. They say your bloodline reappears every third generation. Bridget's has reappeared in me. Yep, she's been tappin' at the door of me Soul, and me unsettled heart, since way back there in infancy. Since way back there as a young child - in the states. And interestingly enough, here in Ireland, while at her graveside, I can feel her presence. Yep, she's been reachin' out alright. And so, it is Here, at her side, I'll be layin' me body down. God bless you, Bridget . . . and God Bless Ireland! Thom Carlisle ( Irish Tommy Moran ) - Ireland. === |

That is interesting Tommy. Good for you to have such a purpose in life and to be content in who you are and now in where you are. Bridget would be quite proud...or should I say "is" quite proud. Thanks. G.

2kids, GYs41, thanks! GYs, yes, Bridget is there, and - here with me daily. She's sweet. A 'goodheart'. I love her. Thanks for mentioning her, GY2.
And thanks for the quick 'smootch' 2kids. I like the flowers as well. === |
