Why don't most religious people think their beliefs could be wrong?
I've always found this very peculiar. I've never had a problem
considering the possibility that I could be wrong for not really
believing in God, heaven/hell, angels etc. As an agnostic, I've
suspended judgement but am willing to consider all arguments. But the
religous people I know are never able to even consider the possibility
that they may be wrong about their beliefs. Why is that?

couldn't tell you because i can admit that i may not be right. have you
asked them?

You ask them that.

They have the answer in their own mind. If I debated that Hitler was a
savior. Try to debate me on that?

Because the scriptures say

" those that want to hear will hear "

that has to do with ecceptance and faith

All things in the Bible are being proven to be true

i think that is the kind of thing he is talkin about lkn414me. i'm not
disagreeing with the first part as i truly believe it but a religious
persons faith can be so strong that they don't often accept it when
something is proven wrong. i have a strong belief in GOD but i don't
believe all of the events in the bible happened for the reason that the
bible says they happend.
they have had scientific tests that have proved that some of the things
that are described as miracles in the bible are a natural rare occurence
from reactions of the environment but at the time these events were
recorded they didn't have knowledge of these events. when i bring this
up alot of religious people get defensive like the idea that a reaction
of the environment is absurd and crazy even though less noticeable
events happen around us everyday. you don't have to shut your mind off
to the world in order to believe in GOD but alot of people do and it is
because it is based on FAITH. the greatest attribute to religion and
society is faith but it can also be it's greatest detractor if people
aren't careful.

WELL YOU TALK TO ANY BIBLE THUMPER
AND THEY DO BELEIVE THEY ARE RIGHT
HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??
WITH SO MANY RELIGONS IN THIS WORLD
HOW CAN ONLY ONE BE RIGHT??
TAKE THE BIBLE FOR INSTANCE,
IT WASNT WRITTEN BY GOD,JESUS,OR MARY,OR SATAN
IT WAS WRITTEN BY MEN
BUT SO MANY PEOPLE LIVE BY IT
ME PERSONALY ITS JUST A BOOK
IT IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD
CAUSE IF IT WAS
HE WOULD HAVE WRITTEN IT HIMSELF

I've had some very heavy discussions with alot of folks pertaining to
GOD. And after many, many , many religions and people I have came to
ONE, and only ONE, anwser!

I am a Christian, but not a bible thumper. Those people I
leave alone. I personally believe that Jesus Christ died
on the cross for me as a sacrifice for my sins. Does that
mean that people who don't won't get into Heaven? Who am
I to say. That judgement comes from someone higher than
me. The reason religious people won't admit they could
be wrong is because of faith. Faith is the belief in
things that aren't seen. To me there's "religious" people
who like to show off, judge others, and act like they're
better than everyone and then there's people who have
a relationship with God but realize they are human beings
with human failings and are no better than anyone else.
Faith is the reason religious people won't admit they could
be wrong. That, and pride. I have my own theory-
I believe in Christ and that I am saved by his grace
but what about the other large part of the world that is
hindu, muslim, jewish, and other religions? I don't think
that the God I worship would let all these other people
go to Hell. I also think that maybe, and this is just
my THEORY that the other religions worship the same God
just in a different way. What about people who don't believe
in God? Do we have a God who would let all these people
go to Hell when he is loving and caring about us and
is perfect. Keeping in mind that God is perfect would
he let about 50% of the world's population go to Hell?
I think not. I think God has a plan that we are not
able to comprehend because the human mind can only
process so much thought. Hope my answer provides some
insight.

I hear what yer saying about natural events being considered
miracles..I'm a Christian and I've discussed that very point with
others..Who says the actual event was the miracle? Sometimes miracles
are nothing more than the TIMING of an event.
Sure, maybe Moses and all the others in that region didn't know that the
Red Sea Parting and the rivers turning "red with blood" were perfectly
natural phenomenon. But God did, and He is the one that told Moses to
lead his ppl to the Red Sea. So maybe then, the miracle was the direct
interaction bewtween God and a man.
Miracles are not bound by any physical laws, nor to natural phenomenon.
Sure science has proven that the Red Sea "parts" from time to time, but
the miracle was that SOMEONE had to tell Moses exactly when it would
happen, because that phenomenon doesn't occur with any sort of
regularity.

fuse?but any givin religion is suspect man is not god how are we
supposed to know what is on his mind we are not omnipotent so what makes
us think we know what god wants only god knows what god wants i live my
life as a good person it makes sense god would want us to be good people
but other than that who knows whats right and wrong with all these
religions out there.

Everybody here would have many words to add to the topic of GOD.
But there is only one anwser to the question of life?

Alright Lady,
I want to hear your thoughts. Even if you don't beleve
you still believe because you believe in not believing.
So what is your take on this whole situation? Why or
why do you not believe?

It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck to even READ some of
the things that you non-believers have the gall to WRITE down on here.
Makes me know that the end times are not that far away.

My Daddy was a preacher and I'm very proud of what he stood for, his
integrity and the way my sister and I were raised to believe. I think
it's really ironic that baseball players can be so superstitious in not
washing their uniform, or dying their beard red...because they won a
game with those particular things. .. however, you let someone actually
stand up and say that they believe in God and the Bible. .. and it's war
and a constant debate.

Pretty sad.

The truth of life. The anwser to everything?
Nobody alive knows for sure, and God is not talking for all to here at
one time.
So unless you know someone who has came back to life,(in this century)We
will each deal with our passing at that time?
