Topic: GOP senator caught for lewd conduct in Airport bathroom | |

"As a people we really need to see the light. If we accepted the normal behavior of a person, if we could be shown a mistake or an error in judgement and that the person was able to get past it and grow and learn and be open and honest about all the flaws in their life, wouldn't that be a much better way to know who we are really voting for?"
that was perfect redy and i thank you. i would definitely rather have someone like that than the same old politician spouting bull because that's what the people want to hear. it's just as much the voting publics fault as it is the candidate though because we allow it. thanks again adj4u, i will vote this year even if i have to write in a name. i was just a little sick and tired of it all for a minute. |

That really was creepy, tap dancing around the toilet stalls. Whoever does that is creepy, senator, republican or democrat, whoever. As for any man trying to initiate sex in a airport bathroom with another man he never met, that's not just creepy, its disgusting too. The senator should just hang up his credentials and go home.
|
|
|

why was he at the airport?
|

they report that this particuliar restroom has a reputation as a

*Boggle*
The people who are putting on the loudest show in town about the Craig affair are.... (wait for it)..... (Ring..... Ring.....) Ah! There's the Clue Phone now with the answer. And the answer is..... CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICANS. Sheesh. Talk about being hoisted on one's own petard, these guys are the Gold Standard. They invented Swiftboating and used the gay marriage issue in '04 to edge out the competition, now want to hide behind a phony Libertarian mask when caught in indiscretions? They pretended to be the party of Open and Honest government, but have had most of the leadership head for the hills after being caught doing the same things they solemnly vowed to eliminate. You KNOW what your Mother would have said to "Yeahbut, the other kids are doing it, too." -Kerry O. "Now, go stand in the corner." |

I listened to the tape of Larry Craig and the cop. It actually makes Larry Craig's story more believable, when the cop says something like "If you plead guilty, this will be over and nobody will ever know it happened. If you plead innocent, you will end up in court and have to answer questions..."

Hey, Spidey, I've got a bridge to sell you, real cheap. If you act fast, I'll throw in some prime (swamp)land at no additional cost.
Answer this as honestly as you can: Would you be scrambling to find excuses for Craig's actions if he were a Democrat? Of course, reading other posts from you tells me the answer to that one. |

Knox..double standard? Barney Frank...admitted to having sex with 17 year-old pages..also admitted to a male prostitution ring run from his New York apartment...nothing done to him,
William Jefferson, D-La., Found $100,000 of bribe money in his freezer...still serving..nothing said or done about this...I could go on...not defending Craig actions at all...but seems when a dem does something..no big outcry..but when a republican does something "bad" the media jumps all over it. |

Not talking about the media, Searchin, talking about myself. Yes, I think Frank and Jefferson should be punished. I can't help it if they weren't. A member of the Ford political family in Tenn(Democrat) was sentenced to five years for crimes committed while in office. I have no problem with that.
Remember, searchin, don't paint one person(me) with the same brush you use for everyone. P.S.: In my opinion, Barney Frank should've been thrown UNDER the jail. Trust me, I'm no fan of the media, either. |

I note several interesting tidbits to this situation!
One is Craig opposes gay marriage and has a strong record against gay rights. Very odd and could be a reason for the difference between his defamation and that of other Senators that are admittedly homosexual! Another is the Republican platform, which is against gay marriages and draws much of its voter support due to this stance! In a time when they are fast losing all other support it was they who encouraged Craig to resign. In the paper it says, "Sen. Larry Craig announced his resignation Saturday, bowing to pressure from fellow Republicans worried about damage from his arrest and guilty plea in a gay sex sting." |

Fanta ..there are many Democrats against gay marrage too...you just don't here about them because the left wing of their party has taken over...but I agree..and I think Bill Richardson looks better and better every day

Serchin4MyRedWine writes:
" Fanta ..there are many Democrats against gay marrage too...you just don't here about them because the left wing of their party has taken over." Oh, you mean Democrats like Bill Clinton (who signed into DOMA into law) and John Kerry who said he opposed gay marriage in the 2004 debates (Google up the transcript, you'll see.) What the Constitutional Ammendment business was really all about was a Republican double standard about states rights-- they hated it when 'activist' judges on the Supreme Court invalidated the last state sodomy laws, but didn't want individual states to decide what they wanted to do about gay marriage. Doing so, they say, will weaken the institution of marriage. With the divorce rate as sky high as it is, I don't see much logic in that spin. It was all about appeasing "The Base". -Kerry O. |
