Get the book, they also have one day at a time books. If you can't find a GA group try AA or NA your friends and family won't understand go to a group find someone there to talk to get a number for support

Wow willing, You seem to know the Big Book and fundamentals of AA well.

Finding a group is definitely the way to begin. When I went through IOPT. I learned a lot about addiction and how the mind tries to rationalize. But AA is where I saw and felt a connection with people who had my experiences.

If you can't find any Meetings for GA,go to some Open Meetings of AA or NA,I am sure you will find some Fellowtravelers who also have a Gambling Addiction in addition to their Drug- Alcoholaddictions!

Not at all Adam ....When I was 20, I got hooked on speed (prescription form amphetamine)...My addiction only lasted about nine months, but the last three or four months were hell...At first, the drug was like a miracle cure for my self esteems and social anxiety issues...I could go anywhere and do anything without feeling self conscious or nervous...I had more energy than I knew what to do with, and I looked great, slim, trim, and toned....The drug gave me confidence, false confidence....It also robbed me of much needed sleep, killed my appetite, wreaked havoc on my nervous system, and turned me into someone I didn't know and didn't like... Sooooo,,,,, once I realized the drug was in control I made the decision to stop....For me, stopping was the easy part, understanding why I became addicted and learning new coping skills was hard and it took time, commitment, some pretty serious counseling (mostly about my family dynamics and how they were affecting my choices) and "a lot help from my friends"...

No, never...Never once in all these years...What made me start in the first place?...If you mean how I was introduced to speed, the guy I was dating at the time offered it and I accepted..Age old story!

No, not curious...I was miserable, with myself and my life...I wanted to feel better and he promised me I would....Nothing complicated about it, I was looking for a free lunch and I found out there is no free lunch ....It's all about taking responsibility for yourself Adam...It's all about making choices...

I think for me it all started when I was around 13-14 because I started playing a game that was called habbohotel and you could collect furniture and then create your own little casinos if you wanted to. In the end my account was hacked into and that was the end of that, but then one day my brother said oh if you create an account your get a free ten pound bet and if you bet for this guy to win I bet he will score and that's what happened and then it was a downhill spiral but then
