Topic: George Zimmerman will ask the state of Florida to reimburse | |

Ahhhh, your old double standard ... No mention of the evidence that Martin was a little hoodlum that the judge excluded from evidence. Probably the reason no civil charges have been made is evidence such as this would be permitted in court. and since no charges were filed and no one claimed the jewelry was theirs,, its irrelevant to him being SHOT while walking home by an armed adult,,, and the adult being found not guilty. You left that part out. |

One... he used money raised fir that specific purpose...not his own. Two he got off on technicalities if law and almost half the jury have already said they was almost forced against better judgement due to this and how his lawyer slang it.

You left that part out. not guilty of what? assault on a cop? oh yeah, he was guilty of that but not of possibly assaulting a minor,, that was just his bad luck to run up aginst this graffiti writing thug that night who decided to try and kill him while wandering home through the rain trying to make it back to watch a game,,, lol |

yes, I do too I have never heard before of any other acquittals that were reimbursed,, but that doesn't mean they weren't happening all along I think such a law is probably a good idea. It protects people from being unjustly prosecuted just to put money into the State Treasury. It would discourage States from charging people with crimes they know they can't prove just for the money or to harass someone they don't like. or, it could be profiting people who are not found guilty but have committed crimes kind of a flip side to persecuting innocents,,,rewarding the guilty but, no system is perfect,, we can only work to make it our best.... Msharmony, when you are found "not guilty" you are assumed to be not guilty. Not everyone who is charged with a crime is guilty. Even if they are, if they are not found guilty.... you can't continue to assume the attitude that they are guilty. You move on. If they are criminals they will eventually get caught again. If they are not, they should be reimbursed to recoup some of the loss from being wrongly accused. The laws are to protect the innocent. |

I don't assume people are innocent because they aren't proven guilty in a court of law I also don't assume them guilty because they go to jail but I do agree that we should be protecting the innocent best we can its just defining 'innocent' that becomes complex |

Well its not a perfect system, but its the only one in place.
Personally, I put my faith in the law of vibration. What goes around comes around. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword. |
