Ok, this one. Simple, the police wanted to make sure that he quit smoking for good. Accomplished. Good job, think of the money they will save his family his insurance company in the long run. Portable Oxygen tanks are not cheap.

Well, did the police know that he refused his meds? He has that right last time that I checked. He should have worn a bean-bag protective vest though. I understand that they are quite reasonable at the paint-ball sports stores. Just shows that little bit of forethought can save you a lot of grief later. He learned a lesson the hard way.

After you are over the age of 85 you have no more rights.

Apparently.

its called sarcasm

they will get a pass because of the notion that they were 'fearful for their life'

which, in America, passes for justification of taking a life,,,

Ironic isn't it? We, like Zimmerman, would go to jail of course because we didn't do it from behind a badge!

we would also go to jail if we cut someone open to help them and they died,,,, and we aren't a doctor

or, if we locked someone up against their will,, and we aren't the police

or if we made someone stay in their bedroom and they weren't our child

..that's what 'authority' does,, it assigns specific and/or unique duties and responsibilities

yeah, I was thinking the other day of two inventions

one would be (already exists) an app or device that can fit on ones person that records what happens around that person and sends it live to a server/storage,,,,,as evidence in those cases where one of two involved ends up dead,,,

the other would be weapons that shoot a high dose tranquilizer, just as effective at 'stopping' someone, allowing time to escape from or at least subdue them, without as high a risk of killing them,,,

That's called a tazer.

Using drugs on someone would be hazardous. Its invasive, it could kill them if they are allergic or react to some other drugs they have in their system, (and most muggers will have some other drug in their system.) Also, they take too much time to take effect.

I suggest the best self defense if you don't want to carry a weapon, gun or knife, is Karate.

I carry a small oval shaped rock in my pocket. It fits in the palm of my hand and sticks out one side. It comes to a nice rounded point. Its just a pet rock. I call it my "attack rock."

I know several places to hit a person with it that could either knock them out or kill them.

When I was a world renowned dog catcher, we used, according to their approximate weight, nicotine doses.
It was easy to "accidentally " overdose them.

I carry a sheet of paper because paper covers rock. I just have to worry about scissors though.sad2

Honestly any death in that line of work takes a lot out of someone. I had a guy who dropped dead(because he was high on meth and went into cardiac arrest)in the office after we had him cuffed and the police were on scene and it tore me apart for a good 8 months, and the guy was a REALLY bad guy.

So administrating medication without a license? How do you determine the doses? How do you know they aren't deathly allergic to that sedative? What if they were on any kind of depressant drug, it would instantly kill them.

A taser is a safe and effective tool that works the same way.
