very interesting, it shows the simple reality that killing in the name of God is not just a justification for the christians. It can be used by any fundamentalist fanatic.

Isn't that what the guy that shot what was it John Lennon said? that God told him to kill him?

It is always nice when a God can command someone to kill and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside (those tha tmiss the sarcasm ... I see that is truely your God).

It isn't new though. The romans used "the Gods" to justify everything. The early Christians used God to start all sorts of wars. Why not modern times? Lucky us the terrorist claim we are Satan (or their equivilent) so their God says we should die.

I like to think of it this way. People are crazy regardless of if they blame God for it or not. The people that blame God are just stupid AND crazy.

Not to mention,when the Witch Trials happened.the Catholics are the ones that did that.if someone looked at one the wrong way,they were considered a witch and that person was killed because God told them to.

i've always found it weird that someone who preaches to me that there GOD is a loving GOD will condemn a person so harshly.

Well Killing in the name of something is very common. I found that reglish killing are dirty water but somewhere in that dirty water is a precious baby that is important to us. I wish the world would reach a higher place above killing in the name of god but people will probably never stop. I ahve knwon about the cuises and salem witch trails and Islamic extremtist using god as an excuss to kill someone. It is fustrating to people wanting to preach reglion but what cna we do tell people to not to belive in god like the communist did you can't expect that to work.

I'm not aware of eastern religions requiring such a thing but I could be wrong...

most of the eastern religions seem to be built solely on peace. at least they follow theirs.

i don't see anykind of religious war necessary unless someone is trying to physically remove that religion from the face of the earth and not one of them can claim that at the moment.

JT if you are referring to the Salem Mass Witch Trials, that was the Puritans not the Catholics. Us Catholics did the Inquisition in Europe, mostly Spain but elsewhere too.
