I love where some want to bring in the Mods as if we let people slide for the actions they do... I have busted just as many long term members as I have short term members. Rules are Rules no matter who you are.......

Myself the Sex & Intimacy Forum did not bother me. I had pretty much quit posting in there due to all the threads were mainly who would sleep with the one above shshsh not my kind of entertainment... I prefer the forums as they are I have been on sites where there was a lack of Mods and they were down right ugly to each other....

The way I see it I joined I read the rules I follow those rules. Just like if I was to invite someone in my house if you come in and try to stir things up and make and azz of yourself you know where the door is, don't let it hit you on your back side going out....

Well i do have to agree and i have been on a site that had no moderation as well
IT really was totally UGLY !
You folks do a great job here in keeping it nice
MINGLE2 ROCKS THE PLANET
...Because of folks like you !
happy happy\\
....\/....

Let's give these awesome folks a hand !

I'm not having a go at any mod here but mods are human beings just like everyone else and they aren't perfect. It's also quite idle to criticise them anyway because that gets you nowhere but sucking up to them often will.

I assure you that they can suck up all they want to and be my best friend I will still bust them.... regardless....

Funny cause the ones that I have known from here for a while when they get busted they admit it right away they were wrong and move on....The ones that scream favoritism ect are normally the ones causing all the issues....slaphead Just saying.....

What some fail to remember even Mods have to follow the same rules as the members do.. Then we have an extra set of rules just for the mods.

We don't make the rules we just enforce them when some tend to push the fact there are rules..whoa

FYI...sucking up doesn't work with me. I will send a warning to friends, foes, family, whatever. If they break the rules, they break the rules.

Do you personally know the mods here? If not, then how do you know what works with us and what doesn't?

I will spank anyone. I don't discriminate

No, this is the internet and I don't know you any better than anyone else that posts in this forum. For what it's worth, I don't personally have a problem with any mod here. I have had on other sites though. I'm on a gaming site and they have this vague "no being a jackass" rule there, which is designed to stop people trying to lawyer around the rules but in effect it does result in people being banned just because some mod doesn't like them.

There are rules here but people break them. It says no flaming but make some negative comment about women for example and you will get flamed. Some posters deliberately invite people to flame them. Now, what a moderator will tend to do is to make a judgment about what the intention someone has when they post something. If they think that you are just joking that's fine but psychoanalysing people that you only know on the internet is exactly what flamers do. They don't know you personally but they act like they know all sorts of things about you just from your posts. No, I don't know you personally and you don't know me personally but you read my posts and you form an opinion about me from them alone.

people have the right to be offended by whatever,,,and we wont all be offended by the same thing

but when people offer a service, even a website or social network, its also their right to determine what the parameters will be

as mentioned before, plenty of anything goes sites out there too,,,search around for the parameters that fit us and then we don't have to complain about the one we are in not fitting our parameters,,,,

What she said.

We allow some topics for discussion purposes. If it gets out of hand, we step in.

The mods here communicate with each other. If one is unsure, we will contact the others for their opinions. All of our actions are logged and we are outspoken women and have no problem checking each other if needed.

As I have said before, somethings aren't clear cut. Some fall into a gray area and, as mods, we have to use our best judgement.

I have never gone after any one because I don't like them. I will go after people I like equally if I need to do my job.

If you are talking to me, I think that there's something absurd about putting a parental guidance rating on a site that you have to be an adult to make an acount on. What does it even mean? We have been told that it doesn't mean the same rules that movies have to conform to in order to recieve a certificate with that label on it. Why not have a clear "no talking about sex" rule? Well, that would be absurd because it's a dating site, so it's "no explicit sex talk". But what does that mean. Do I have to use innuendo? So, it boils down to simply what offends some people, specifically people that believe that it is inappropriate and indecent for grown adults to discuss sex in public.

Now, we are told that it's because of the advertisers but a large number of the ads on my screen are for casual sex sites and there are indeed free sites that aren't "PG" that somehow manage to make money and keep going.

I personally don't like being censored as if I am talking to children but whatever. It's a slippery slope and if every actual rule was strictly enforced this forum would be as dull as ditchwater and not worth posting in at all. Thankfully though, we have those famous ""gray areas" and some of the discussions are interesting and it isn't just the mutual apreciation society for people that share the same values and want to give each other huggles that the OP believes that it is.

Actually these forums have always been PG 13. The sex forums were only R.

You agreed to the Terms of Service. Just because this is a site for adults does not make it an "adult" site. There are plenty of those out there for people if they want that.

Can't please everyone so we try to find a middle ground. I GUARANTEE that it isn't as easy as people think to make these judgement calls while putting your personal beliefs, values, etc to the side.

We bust our butts to keep actions taken as impartial as possible

Let me re-phrase TawtStrat's argument as I understand it.

This site requires its members to be over the age of 18. So, why require a "PG-13" limit on forum posts?

As TawtStrat points out, this site has advertisements for other sites that definitely contain "R-rated" or "X-rated" material. Why allow such advertisements to appear on a site that is supposed to be "PG-13"?

I assure you we don't do it for the money....noway

Many times I have hated busting some specially when it is their first time.... We are about as fair as we can get...The way I see it we are way too easy on those that can't seem to stay within the rules. Everyone will push the envelop from time to time that is normal.

The rules are pretty much what they were when the site started. They were revised and with more details so they would be clear. Our rules are pretty basic and pretty easy to understand...

And one of the Rules is that the forums are Rated PG. Some will like that some will not. There are many sites for all types of people and the way I see it even the PG sites have just as many people that enjoy that type of site. That is why many stay after they start posting in the forums.

The reason for the over 18 is in the states if you date a minor they can get you for statutory rape. Therefore Dating Sites are required a age limit. We are actually a Dating/Social site. The forums are where most just come to chat with all the regulars...Which is mainly the Social part of the site. Not saying they are not there looking but more for the conversation..

As far as the rules the owner choose to make the forums PG and when it comes right down to it. It will remain that way... You either love it, deal with it, or move on to a site that meets your demands.

As far as the S & I Forums we had, we did not have a problem with as long as they stayed Rated R... Those that tend to go a bit too far was busted.. Sometimes it is just TMI and should be taken to e-mail... But due to our sponsor Google we had to do away with that forum. As far as the Adds Google chooses those we do not...

Many posts on Mingle need to be in an X rated "adult section". They should bring it back. Imo
