Well I can see that everyone here thinks that stalking is funny so it is very obvious that no one here has ever had a stalker. I had a stalker for about 2 1/2 years and I actually had the police to tap my phones because I was afraid to leave my house. I just got over going through my Cancer so I was very sick and the last thing I needed was some man bugging me. I called the police and explained everything so they did tap my phones but said they could not really do anything to this person until he did something to me. I honestly believe it was an officer because the officer taking care of my case called and said they knew who it was. So after I got the message on my answering machine I called him back and he said I misunderstood him. Now when he sees me he acts like he is going to pull out in front of me every time he sees me. He watches every move I make...so I went and got a gun and made sure he knew it. I had to get finger printed and now I am a PISTOL PACKING *****. No one will ever make me live in that kind of fear again. IF some one breaks into my house...I shoot to kill. OH and if you think it is fun to have a stalker...you are dead wrong!!! So sorry that this happened to you. I would think it would be a terrifying experience.

I have never been stalked. May be because Im a pretty big guy and sometimes look a little angry or intimidating without even trying to. well I suppose you could be stalked by someone short and stupid...lol |

Stalking is horrible. It is invasion of privacy and breeds fear, destroying someone's freedom and independence. My best friend was stalked for 2 1/2 years by an ex of her then boyfriend. Crazy scary times. No one should have to go through that.
Taking some time to do research on someone you like is a completely different thing. Jmo. |

What does a stalker hope to achieve?
Is it like hunting the prey, sounds like it? Is there a mental condition that makes someone predisposed to stalking? I cannot imagine any practical application for stalking. Is there any good articles on why people stalk, it would be an interesting read. |

sometimes, we can laugh at the harsh realities of life,,
and some people will be offended based upon their experience its a very subjective standard,, what 'offends' Id say, short of rape and pedophilia just about any topic can have humor in It in the right context and with the right delivery,,, |

I believe there is a fine line between chasing and stalking. Chasing can be flattering while stalking is creepy

I think its dangerous and a sign of mental illness. It should be addressed as soon as possible.Some people get off on ruining others security, they need to make harsher sentences for the true crazy ones.

We need stronger anti-stalking laws to protect both genders. But I think it is mainly women who get stalked the most.

how do you feel when someone stalks you? Your thread title was "Is stalking bad?" and your question is "how do you feel when someone stalks you?" Answer #1: Yes, stalking is bad. It is spying on a person. A predator stalks its prey. Answer #2: My answer to how do I feel is ANGRY. I discovered a man stalking me once and I nipped it in the bud. I counter stalked him. I took his licence plate number, ran a check on him, found out who he was, where he lived etc. Then the next time I saw him face to face, (he came into the tavern I worked as a bar tender) I told him I saw him driving by my house and he of course denied it. I told him I knew who he was, where he lived and that if I ever saw him on my street again, I intended to call his wife. I Never saw the man again. But if I discover anyone stalking me, they will get stalked back. |

Ok I am sorry about my stupid answer and if it offended anyone, I just thought the question was silly. Is stalking bad... yes of course it is. Why even ask?

I think its semantics where
stalking may not bring about the same image to every person some may consider the mere simple pursuit of someone (romantic interest) as stalking others, may bring up a more predatory type behavior I have been stalked (the latter) ,and its pretty scary,,,, |
