I have "met" many cool people here. It makes me wonder "What is going on here?" "What is wrong with the opposite sex, or same sex, if that is the orientation?"

The personalities are great and I don't understand. How can these clever, intelligent, creative, attractive people be alone?

I am going on a mental health walk now. Just had to get that out of my system first.

Hi goldenhinde Sometimes I think that myself. Who knows? I guess the only way is to get to know them. I see all these single people with wonderful personalities. As for me, I'm only single right now because I choose to be.

Sometimes people make these decisions.. based on the cards they have been dealt.:(

I've heard about a lot of reasons online dating seems the best resource for meeting people.

These are just a few of things my friends have told me.

1. Their town is too small and they've already dated everyone there.

2. They don't go places where singles hang out, so don't meet many options. (Some of who don't like places singles hang out, and others who may be disabled in some manner and cannot go to these places.)

3. Been married/in a relationship for a long time and don't have any idea how to meet potential dates, or even how it's done these days. Online gives them a chance to not only meet people but pick up the modern vibe of dating today.

4. Have social anxiety and this is the only comfortable conduit to a social world that allows them enough comfort level that they can be themselves.

5. Lost their loved one a while back and are just now considering dating again...or just socializing again. Online is an easy, do it at your own pace method of entering a social setting after a long absence.

6. And then there's NONEYA.

And, WHY am I just hearing about this now?!?
