actually there is nothing wrong with the last one. If you are certain someone had been dishonest or suspect they might not be totally honest with you, it is best to discuss it if u want to preserve your relationship. If it was a small lie, it might work out...but if you don;t get it straightened out, that person will begin to believe that lieing is an acceptable, successful tactic. And, that's a downward spiral.

If you have been dishonest you should expect the challenge. I have been lied to many times and have seen people lie all the time. I don;t want personal relationships with them anyway because I know they lied (and it affected me).

so that person needs to come clean to preserve whatever is left of their honor - but if it is a serious lie our friendship is done

nothing is wrong with challenging a liar and if they don't like it, too bad. The most important thing is to get at the truth
