I've chatted with ladies from the forums privately and also with ladies that don't go on the forums. I'm in Scotland and there aren't really any people that go on the forums that live in my area, so the forums have been something that I've just done for friendship, although I came on here for dating. I get mostly scammers contacting me and I don't waste much time replying to them but I've met one woman from this site and I've talked to other ones about possibly meeting up. I can't really be doing with Facebook and I've only got three friends on there, who are just people that I know from the real world and I don't even talk to them on there. How do you know which are scammers? I'm speaking to a few atm that are good looking and actually speak to me :P |

I prefer to post in the forums on here. If I have something more personal than I will email. If it is a friend that I chat with regularly I will email them on here.

They try to get you to chat offsite and they are usually from other countries and will just give you a lot of jazz straight away about how they are looking for romance, while with the genuine ones you might get a proper conversation and it's you that has to try to chat them up. It can be hard to tell though. With the woman that I did meet, I thought for a while that she was some sort of scammer and I didn't believe that she wasn't until the night that I actually met her. She had financial problems and kept putting the date off with excuses about not even having the train fare to get here. |

I trusted my gut and finally had to block them on here. |

Well atm I'm speaking to someone from Ghana who gave me a UK phone number lol Kinda weird but if they're how you described them I'm happy :D

Forum is better for discussions ie. about one particular topic whereas PM is better for dating that is one particular person

I PM a few friends I've made mostly from the forums. We have discussions I probably wouldn't talk about in a public arena. I'm a social person too though, so enjoy socializing in the threads as well.

Do you like PMing or on the open forums more? Do you have PM buddies or tend to say what you have to say in open? How do you compare things like FaceBook to Mingle? more often on the forums. not a lot I say here that is not OK for general consumption I often use PM to clear up misunderstandings or have an extended convo so as not to tie up a thread. I seldom PM with non forum members. as far as I know I have no restrictios on PM so anyone from the forums can talk to me if they want to. I have a few occasinal PM buddies - we don;t chat PM that often tho Facebook is family only - tho I do have a few friends from Mingle on there who found me thru Luis. Thanks Luis! :) It was great to hear from Audrey & Shannon! Those folks aren't on here much any more & we were all very good friends (that;s also why I did not have a photo on here for a long time) |

The forums are for chatting about various topics with different people. PMs are to get to know people better. This site and Facebook are different, as I use this site to meet new people. Facebook is to keep in touch with people I know. |

I enjoy personal messagings. I have personal messages buddies on here, however, a couple left because they were looking for dates and this site was too slow.
Most men I meet do not do forums, because forums are not personal. I dont date off FB. Not a good place for talking to strangers it is more for Family and Close friends you already know. Imo |

I never PM, taking down IM and staying in Stealth
has reduced contacts by 95%, so I like it :-) On FB just for family, also I don't know how to use it so much, what is private mail and what is not is my biggest bugaboo. I don't want to screw THAT up. I like the forum system, gives you time to think, ponder a bit, play when you want to, go in when you don't. Recess, yay! |
