Stolen from somewhere else.

Happy Memorial Day!

Today we honor the lives and memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. They will never be forgotten.

But unfortunately, for the first time since it's inception in 1984, Fleet Week has been cancelled in NYC due to budget cuts under the sequester!

This would have been the first time for many servicemen and women to have had the opportunity to see NYC for the first time, but that has gone up in smoke.

The cost for Fleet Week is about 10 million dollars, about the same cost of a vacation for Obama and Michelle for a week in Hawaii!

And it would have probably brought double the cost in the form of revenue for NYC.

Meanwhile, we send billions overseas to countries that hate us, as well as other wasteful spending! Thanks for nothing, Barry!

thanx alot natural disasters,,the latest of which will make the fleet week costs seem like a coin in a wishing fountain,,,,

I made an early prediction that when a budgt is in a debt, cuts to spending and increase in revenue will have to occur

and no matter where cuts are made, people who benefit from that money will complain,, and there will be no cut made that wont affect people ,,,,

its how life works,,,

perhaps it comes back to US and how we are choosing to live,,,but I wont create any tangents,, its more fun to just scapegoat the politicians,,,

Not to mention he's getting ready to take another vacation.

If we get another Republican president in my lifetime, I'm going to really enjoy pointing out the cost of their vacations, like the Cons like to cry about Obama. Sure, Obama and his family vacation a couple times a year, but Presidents Bush spent literally years on vacation, a week or so at a time.

The $10 million figure for Obama's vacations is exaggerated. For example, under President Bush, the estimated cost for taking Air Force One anywhere was $50,000/hour. Now under President Obama, it's stated at $189,000. No way did the costs actually increase almost 300%. They're either lying or including other dissociated costs, like the health care plans for each technician who's ever touched the plane.

The fact is that the security detail doesn't get paid more if they stay in Hawaii, and there's no way they're ringing up a $million in meals and rooms. Most of the costs of having an airplane isn't the fuel or even the maintenance, but just buying it and keeping it around, so most of the $189,000 (assuming that's anywhere near accurate) is probably the interest payments on the purchase of the airplane and the airbase, divided by the number of hours ever flying it.

As for Fleet Week, I'm sorry, but you should be blaming your Congressperson, and not the President, since they could stop the Sequestration, if they ever decided to actually work with the Democrats, for a change.

Until the cost of leadership is sacrifice, the people will suffer!

As for your statement above, government has grown 300% under Obozo, started 1st by Clinton, continued by Bush and escalated by O

Until we do away with militarism, the Federal Reserve banking system that funds it, the patriot act, career politicians and the law making corporations people too..... it will grow even more

It's not the hat they wear, it's the head that it covers!

First of all, our next President will be a Republican. The Obama Syndicate has committed more crimes and had more scandals then any President in history. As far as President Bush's Presidency, I would hardly call them vacations. They were at his Crawford Ranch which he paid out of his own pocket to put housing for his Security Detail and staff members. He also paid to have a Presidential Office put in there. He hosted world leaders there. He wasn't taking weekend trips to Martha's Vinyard or Hawaii, or Chicago.

Second it costs $44,259 per flight hour to fly a Small F-22 fighter, so you would think that it would be three or four times that to operate Air Force One, not to mention that Obama has three times the Security then President Bush had being he is the first African American President in history and they were worried about his safety and had more credible threats against him even before he got elected then they had on President Bush.

Also Fuel prices have drastically risen since President Bush took office, but keep being an Obamabot.
