Exactly. Trashing someone because they didn't live up to your standards of housekeeping (and was offended that you took it upon yourself to clean)and because they smoke inside is pretty bad. I agree with sweetest girl that if you have strict expectations, get a hotel.

if a man smoked in his house, let animals run amok in his home, and a woman traveled 3000 miles in the name of love, would her efforts would be seen as romantic?
the op has been on mingle for more than a minute. his posts show that he is not one to leap before he looks. i guarantee i guarantee that he didn't drop everything and travel thousands of miles two seconds after being contacted by an old flame. he had enough sense to get while the getting was good and salvage the trip. imho he gets three snaps in a "z" formation for being an awesome dude (bulldog double guarantee - patent pending) |

Seriously, I wasn't trashing anyone... It was what it was,
Here's some of the other things I did... While I was bored. -Paid for, and replaced a shower head for them -trimmed a dead hanging branch in the yard -Paid for most dinners (PS:the kid picked food out of my plate 2 out of 3 dinners at the restaurant) Not a word from mom. All of which she was cool with before I did it. Oh and I fixed the puckin vacuum too... had a sock in it. 
It wasn't rosy... I'm glad it wasn't on my last dime, now you spill some stories instead of bashing me? |

I don't smoke and I've stayed in houses where people smoke. I've also stayed in places that weren't spotless. Never once did I b*tch about it or try to clean for them. The last thing I'd want to do is offend someone who was nice enough to let me be a guest. But, we're not all the same. Though, if I let someone stay here and they complained because it wasn't what they liked/wanted/expected, they're more than welcome to go pay for a hotel. Rude house guests over stay their welcome quickly.

If anyone "trashed" her, it was me. If you read the OP, he didnt trash her at all, he just stated what happened, IM THE ONE THAT CALLED HER A DOUCHE'. Why? Because I dont give a rats azz whos house it is, or who stays with who, I treat my company as guests, therefore, if I still smoked, and it disturbed my guests inside the house, I would do it outside. YA CAN DIE FROM SECOND HAND SMOKE, AND IM AN EX 3 PACK A DAY SMOKER! And yes, I have smoked outside for my company. ITS NOT SO HARD TO DO! Also, if my guest cleaned my house while I was away, I would be thankful, and express that, and not take offense to it. I would just think that my guest was being helpful. My mom taught me to "earn your keep", so when I stay with people I either cook or clean. Its called being grateful. She OBVIOUSLY KNEW her house was a pig pen, or she wouldnt have taken it that way and been mad. We are all different, and do things differently, but "I" for one ACCOMMODATE my guests. And to think of it as free room and board, if freaken ridiculous! |

And as a house guest, I would never even think of telling the person who lived there they couldn't smoke where they wanted. I think that's incredibly rude. If they cooked, I'd absolutely offer to do the dishes. Or I'd offer to help cook. I wouldn't assume they wanted me to clean the house, though. And doing so myself may come off as offensive. If I left for a bit and my guest had cleaned while I was gone, I'd find that really weird. Now, if the guest had cleaned up after themselves because they made a mess in the kitchen? That's fine. |

I totally agree and this is from an ex 3 pack smoker too that use to smoke in my house...I now understand about smoking in the house which I did not prior... I don't see that he was trashing anyone just stating the facts... I mean come on if someone travels that far to see me I'm going to clean my house prior and take some time off to spend with them....
