It's been almost a month since I got out of the hospital I had two large blot clots and the ended up putting in two stints.this is all very new to me but since then my inr has not budge from 1.3 they have kept increasing my coumiden that I am now taking 22mgs my dr thinks it could be other meds I'm on and my liver isn't breaking them down. So he's sending me to a blood specialist to see if they can figure this out. I don't want to sound like a cry baby but other things have been going on along with this so I would appreciate any prayers. Thanks

So sorry you are going through all this. It is really scary when meds don't do what they are supposed to. You aren't eating a lot of foods with vitamin K in them are you -- like spinach, other greens, etc.?? Vitamin K makes your blood clot so works against Coumadin and other blood thinners, just a thought. I am sure the specialist will figure it out. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.

Sometimes a lot happens in our lives all at once so I'll be praying for that blanket of peace for you for the next few days.

All of a sudden like out of the blue that calm hits and things start to feel easy again. I pray your calm is right around the corner if it hasn't already happened.

I know that chocolate effects Coumadin also. Not sure if it brings the level up or down.

Still thinking of you and hoping the Dr. figures out what the issue is. There must be something fighting the Coumadin. Have they tried you on Plavix or Effient (think that is the spelling - but a new drug that is out that they are using for people who can't use Plavix) -- I would think they would try something other than Coumadin if it won't bring your INR to the correct levels.
