Cats are very sneaky as we all know. Do you have a basement? Is there anyway she could have gotten down there??????? I know this is a sad situation, but, she may have eaten it. And there may not be any mess. We had a cat once, years ago, who ate her 2 kittens. I guess she knew they weren't going to survive. I would just keep checking around, and I would keep an extra close eye on your cat. Maybe she did have other kittens and they are safe. Good luck to you. Hope all works out ok.flowerforyou flowerforyou

Oh yes, cats are super sneaky!
I hope you find it safe and sound, if not safe and sound then I hope you find it soon before it starts to smell because dead kitten and the heat would be...I can't even imagine!

I'm a cat lover too. Those ****ers are delicious. Get some pepper on them and they're good to go.

Chris, you need to quit. This is a serious matter. It's not funny.

so...i found the one kitten. i looked IN the drawers...not under them. she was whining, and i found her...

took a fan in there, have it on medium and circulating some air...and i have the kitten nursing happily on mom.

she's really small. anyone have any good ideas on how to keep her alive through this heat-spell?

Only found one kitten? You're close to a meal, here. Find a few more and you can make Kitten Kabobs! Stay optimistic!

"Chris, you need to quit. This is a serious matter. It's not funny. "

I'm aware that it's a serious matter. There are children starving around the globe who would love a nice freeze-dried kitten sandwich.

was worried at first that she might have some stuck in her...but i really don't think so. i could distinctly feel four kittens before, all moving happily...and now i can't feel a one.

I am so glad you found it!
Hmm as for keeping it alive through the heat spell, can you put both of them in the room, close the door..open a window..& use the fan to maybe cool the room down a bit.

Or maybe call your vet and ask them what to do because they may have a better solution.

Goood luck! :)

Chris, could you please knock off the jokes. Can't you see lulu is real concerned?

Well Chris, Why don't you put some of your energy into those starving children around the world?????????????? None of us think your funny. You need to grow up. There is a time and a place for everything. Didn't you learn that yet??????????

Lulu, glad to hear the good news. Where did you find the kitten? I agree about calling a vet. They probably would tell you the best thing to do.

i've been bathing the others regularly...and it works wonders. put them under luke-warm water and play...since they have received regular baths since they were tiny, they aren't scared, and it doesn't bother them.

i bathed mama and set fresh water next to her. she's under a large mushroom chair, and i draped a sheet around the edges to make it fairly dark...but open at the front. the fan is blowing directly under. seems to be about ten degrees cooler there than anywhere else.

i'm just scared to bathe a newborn. don't outdoor cats manage to have babies that live in the summer?
