Topic: Man Shot During Home Invasion | |

PONCA CITY, OK-- A man shoots an intruder who broke into his Ponca City home, the entire confrontation was recorded on a 911 call.
"You better get these *expletive* here or they will die," the man told 911 dispatchers at the beginning of the call. The 911 call lasted about five minutes. The caller stayed on the line with dispatchers as he waited for officers to arrive: Caller: "They're beating on my front door right now." Dispatcher: "Okay, we've got them on the way" As the caller waited for police, the intruder managed to break into the home. Several gunshots can be heard during their confrontation. "I just put three rounds in his *expletive,*" said the caller to dispatchers. Ponca City Police say the shooting happened at about 4:30 AM on the 1300-block of North Pine Street. Enos Rhodd lives across the street from the home where the shooting happened, he heard the first two gunshots before police arrived. "They sounded like firecrackers in the distance," said Rhodd. Rhodd says he believes his neighbor was justified in firing at the intruder. "I think you have the right to defend yourself," he said. Carla Carney, who also lives nearby disagrees, she says three gunshots is too much. "You should protect your house, but if he was shot once, why continue to keep shooting?" said Carney. Other neighbors, like Brenton Carney believe with the police station nearby, officers should have arrived sooner. "Maybe they could have caught him outside," he said. Ponca City Police say the intruder was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance, then airlifted to another hospital in Tulsa. No word on his condition. The intruder's name is not being released. The case is under investigation. Ponca City Police say once they complete the investigation the case will be turned over to the DA. This is why People Need Guns. |

But it's not why people need assault rifles. An assault rifle round could've gone through that *expletive* and into the house across the street.
Also, no word in the article whether the intruder was armed. Could have been a case of him having the wrong address. Three shots to the chest and now the *expletive* cannot give his side of the story. |

FBI Crime Stats (You can go to fbi.gov to check for yourself) 3.5% of All Gun Deaths (Some Justifiable) are by Rifle, 85% by Handgun, the Balance is by V.P. Biden's Beloved Shotgun. The "Assault Rifle" as Politicos Call it (Unless it's HLS, then it's Called "Personal Defense Weapon") is a Sub-Set of the Rifle; you have a Better Chance of being hit by Lighting than being shot by (HLS Term)a Personal Defense Weapon. Someone Comes Breaking Down My Door at 4:30am in the Morning to Gain Entry; My Saiga 12 would Blow His A** Back Out, then I'll ask Questions. |

Three shots to the chest and now the *expletive* cannot give his side of the story. Just what is the difference between an assault rifle and a regular rifle? Here is a story update from The Ponca City News: Ponca City Police Deputy Chief Dwaine Vincent said today the department is not prepared to release the name of the intruder who was shot Thursday morning in the 1300 block of North Pine Street.
“To the best of our knowledge, the intruder and the residents did not know each other,” Vincent said. “There is no indication that this was anything other than a homeowner who was in fear for his life and his family.” According to an unnamed official familiar with the investigation, the intruder suffered .22-caliber gunshot wounds to the face, through the arm into the chest, and into the side of his back. If an armed intruder invades your home in the middle of the night, then you may not have time to ask questions. You may have only seconds to defend yourself. |

That Ammo used in the AR-15 and others is designed not to go through Bodies like a Butterknife,on accounts that it is relatively small Caliber, and has to open up inside the Target to do the damage! Please don't perpetuate the Myths of the Gungrabbing Politicians! No purpose is served with that! If someone breaks down my Door,he definitely has anything but good intentions! The Constitution wasn't written to restrain your behavior,it was written to restrain your Government's behavior! Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.-Thomas Paine yep,and banning Guns works so well in California! |

To defend my home, I would rather have an "assault weapon" than a 22 rifle. Can you believe changing just the stock alone on a 22 rifle makes it an "assault weapon". Ha! |

No,probably not! But there is a Magnum-Cartridge that can go through an Engine-Block! Forgot which Caliber, though! |

This isn't a ho ho ha ha type of issue. People are finding holes in their bodies made by bullets, which came from firearms, which are extentions of their hands, which are attached to their arms, and ultimately attached to their no-brain craniums. |

If you're looking for some Elecro-Magnetic Field, or a Projected Energy Screen strong enough to stop a bullet traveling a Hundred Miles a Second; you have a wait on your hands. |

I have for Home Defense a Saiga 12 Semi-Auto Shotgun with 20Rd Drum, an AR-15 with 100Rd Double Drum, a .38 Revolver, and a few other guns Loaded and Ready; I also use such weapons to clear my land of Unwanted Critters that find their way onto a small Horse Ranch/Farm.
My Husband, Teenagers & I Drill on what to do in the event someone tries to Break in to our Home as Everyone of Us Knows what a Gun Can Do and How to Handle One; even my 14yr Old who is involved in Competion Shooting with the NRA. Any Threat that Tries to Invade Our Home Would Be Well Advised to Find Another House; it can take about 30Mins for an Ambulance to Reach Us where we live. |

If anybody tries to come through my door by force, especially at 4:30am, they will be taken as a serious threat to MY life and treated as such. Up to and including their death. |
