i would choose death as it is only for just once , you dont have to die everyday in lifelong imprisonment thinking of your guilt and crime , but lifelong imprisonment is also gud if they release me for my good behavior . LOL .

Why will you do it anywayvif you'll just regret it? For me its just fair to see a person in jail than to see them killed. Imprisonment not just punishes you but it also give you a chance to reflect and to ask forgiveness.

I could not in good conscious stand on the side of the death penalty, when life in prison, in solitary confinement, with no one ever to commiserate with... year after year dying inside the loneliness of the hell in a tiny cell, seems sufficient punishment to me... but then again... I've never been in the situation where a family member or anyone else I love has been severely harmed or murdered by anyone, so I don't know what that kind of devastation and anger would do to my soul... I suppose if the crime had the capacity to kill part of me too, then my sensitivity might be less controlling over my desire for the extent of revenge that fits the deed... but ultimately, killing them ends their punishment, so why not just let them suffer in long term silence and alienation? (JMHO)

If its just for their punishment to be releived did you not think of the victim that is supposedly been living a normal life rather than to end it immediately? If you end the suspects life, can they bring back the life of the victim?

I would rather die than to kill. Thats my druthers, however; u mess with my child and you die. You may die at my hand if I am defending myself. I suppose I would never willingly choose to kill anyone under any circumstances but again i said "willingly"...life is full of surprises though right? Good luck...

What kind of mess? Self defense are acceptable in law "sometimes". If you to put yourself into the victims or suspects POV. What will you choose?

I've often wondered how my "anti" death penalty philosophy would "really" stand if affected directly.

I'm thinking execution wouldn't REALLY bring any peace still....but Thank the Universe!!! I don't really know.

I asked also myself for this. I will be satisfied seeing a person in prison than to see them in a coffin with their family grieving. You see all are suffering. But if you imply lifelong imprisonment that will only be the suffering of the offender.

I don't mean to sound pure and altruistic. My wish for any perpetrator of evil, is to be cast among the sodomites for a long and horrific life.....and (though not particularly dogmatic)for it to continue post mortem.
