Topic: Do u think Sex is necessary for this age....

late 50's and the sex-life is fine...haha if a little sporadic lately, but as I get older I find myself wanting a hug and closeness as much as the sex act. I have always enjoyed the foreplay and kisses/cuddles more than intercourse anyway.

sex is in the mind all we NEED is rest, human contact, food, water, and shelter so,no its not 'necessary' on an individual level it is necessary to the survival of the human race I pray I "survive" a lot more times before I die!

Mid sixties and still active. I have had a "fling" with one younger lady (10 years younger) since widowed again, and our relations were superb, but a 240 mile trek to see her was a bind, then I discovered that she was also playing closer to home, and I am a one woman guy looking for a one man girl. Well two previous wives actually but the cursed big "C" took them both after 30 years then nine. My first was 12 years older than me, and the second 1 year younger... age is a number and the way it is going my next life partner may well be older.... I do not mind within reason... it is what is inside that counts... a generous heart. I believe that lovemaking is important... (lovemaking is with love... sex is scratching an itch) important to cement a relationship, for if we can trust each other to do what we do, then we can trust each other do do anything. Alan.

As sexual beings, the drive never stops it only slows down (for some)....when it does, pop a blue pill and you good to go again ;)

My drive and stamina are just as strong today at 57 as they were during anytime in my life and my drive continues to be strong. .

perhaps you mean a monogamous relationship as there is a big difference between a committed one and a monogamous one. My case in point, I am in a very committed LT relationship, however we do allow ourselves a little safe play within reason outside of our relationship which works well for the both of us. The fact is, only 3 percent to 5 percent of the roughly 5,000 species of mammals (including humans) are known to form lifelong, monogamous bonds , with the loyal superstars including beavers, wolves and some bats. Social monogamy is a term referring to creatures that pair up to mate and raise offspring but still have flings. Sexually monogamous pairs mate with only with one partner. So a cheating husband who detours for a romantic romp yet returns home in time to tuck in the kids at night would be considered socially monogamous.
