| Topic: i need help with my pontiac bonneville | |

if anyone can help I have a 92 bonneville sse and it when it heats up it
dies and wont start til it cools down, but it does start up, its not over heating but when it dont start there is no spark to the plugs or anywhere it still turns over. we at first thought it was the fuel pump we changed that the fuel filter the spark plugs and the ignition control module and it is still having the problem. please help me? |

sounds like a starter.

the starter works good, well at least it always turns over and would
that be affected by heat |

i also checked that there is power to and from it

when you turn the key will it turn over?

yah there it will turn over and everything but there is no spark at the
plugs |

your timeing might be off.

it wont start for about 5-15 minutes after its shut off,
i also to check if it wah heat that affected it i flushed the radiator and when it wouldnt start i drained and added cold water and then again it started |

have someone with a timing light come over and test that. cause that
might be it |

it will run for about 15 minutes before its warm then if it dont die by
itself, i shut it off and try ro start it and it dont start |

would timing be affected by heat?

if it is shutting off due to it heating up you might have a censer going
bad |

the timing is the reason you are not getting any spark
|

do you know what sensor would be doing that, cause i know the crank
shaft sensor relates spark but of that goes out the car shouldnt run til its replaced |

if you know someon that has a tech 2 you can plug it into the computer
and it will tell you if it set a code and what the code is. |

im not very good with the wirings of a car. you'll have to get a manual

i wish i did i know 1 person but theres isnt working

and the car wouldnt run long enough to get it to a shop which sucks

i have a mechanic look at it and even the manual doesnt cover the
behavior of the car and the mechanic was stumped lol |
