Got this new 16 year old here and I let him use the computer.
Found out he's been checking out T&A.

I don't do that and want to know if anyone can help me restrict nudity.

I am running windows xp.

Thanks in advance. drinker

I use opendns for filtering. It's free and works great

http://www.opendns.com/home-solutions/parental-controls/

Just sign up for a free account and choose from the list they have on what you want to block. You'll need to set your DNS server settings to their DNS servers under the TCP/IP settings of your network adapter, then install the DNS updater.

Let me know if you need help

you'll find parental controls in your control panel user accounts section - also on the original welcome screen (in Vista - not sure about xp)

Oh also if you use IE as a the browser go to tools (a gear icon at the top right)select "Internet Options " bottom of file menu

select the Content tab - select "Enable" under content advisor

also under the Privacy tab right next to it you can select a higher privacy setting - it's mostly for cookies but also allows you to block pop ups and block non approved sites from contacting you (spam)

I agree with bitdefender! I use it on my pc and it runs nice and smooth without interfering with anything else I am doing. Also is very easy to use and set up to your preferences.

For enabling parental controls via the web- browser
http://www.ehow.com/how_6737128_block-nudity-websites.html

You can prolly speak to your Internet service as well for such things. Not sure that you can with the operating system or not. IE is integrated with your OS and you can either go to the tools menu then to internet options or go to the properties menu by right cvlicking on the e icon and going to properties for enabling this feature.

This short of setting my home page to that of a nudist colony during mating season. Almost against my relegion....

Can I ask what is T&A?

Any tech minded 16 year old will be able to disable filters. Unless they use passwords and such. Not sure never used one.

No. it doesn't its just a gui interface. Stick with Bitdefender as HP2011 says he is right.

Perhaps you can use a very simple option to try to prevent this.

I reccommend putting the computer facing a public enviroment like the living room that way if he does try to look at anything naughty you can hit him upside the head and kick him off the computer all together.
He'll be less tempted if he's being monitored.

That or make the condition that he has to wear a blindfold anytime he wants to use the computer.
That would also resolve this issue.

I remember when I was 16.
Good tmes.
Parental controls can only work so well.
You have to think outside the computer.

think

Tell Pinochio to stop being a puppet and go out and find a girl to show him that stuff themselves, like a real boy!

Lol.

well the filters here will star out the actual words but you may get the jist of it. t is for **** (boobs) and the a is for *** (butt) of the female anatomy

as for a 16 year old boy wanting to look at t&a drinker
maybe if you get him a few magazines? sounds like he's just curious, and you may want to help him fill that curiosity in a manner you can control before he gets an education from a little girl willing to show her t&a and what he could do with them. i guarantee i guarantee it would be cheaper for you to buy him a few magazines and answer some questions than help him raise a baby

(bulldog double guarantee - patent pending)

When I was a kid, even then then my mother knew how to set up parental controls.
"Go get me a switch", she'd say while cooking oe cleaning, not even giving me so much as a glance. The waterworks commenced. I would go to the dreaded privet bush, stripping off a branch big enough to hopefully fool her into thinking I hadn't fudged on it's lethal potential, but not so large as to inflict too much damage. This never worked, and she'd snatch it from my hand, toss it into the trash, and come back with one that I swear made the sound of Obi-wan Kenobi's light saber as she brandished it at me. Then, we would assume the "merry-go-round position", I.e., her gripping my wrist, facing one direction, with me facing opposite. Then, she'd start flailing at my bare legs (no jeans) as I ran along as far out as the length of our joined arms allowed, she close behind, just wailing on me. Sans switch and the bits of flesh and bone raining down upon us, it may have appeared to passerby that this was merely a playful moment between mother and son.
No, no. It was "parental control"...responsible for molding me into the well-adjusted adult I am today.
