ok i might be nuts but i have a 9 month old son who is the apple of my eye... i was on the pill but no matter what happens when the father and i always split up i find out i'm pregnant.. so now i'm 4 months pregnant and have told the father that if he cant step up to the first one we had hes not going to be around for this one.... but anyways.... my 9 month old must know something is up... hes clingy snuggles to my breast and no one can make him happy but me...a friend even bought him a baby doll to get used to the idea of something smaller then him in my arms and around me all the time.. all he wants to do is bite the doll.. hope its not a sign.. but right now i'm having contrations not just braxtin hicks but the real ones... but all seems to look ok so i'm just on bed rest and loseing weight not gaining but trust me i eat anything and everything...i find myself forgetting that i'm pregnant so i can take care of my son... but i cant always pick him up and love on him...its almost to the point were i will have his father around because hes the only one besides me that can make him happy.... lord help me be strong..sad

Oh, hun, hang in there! It's tough having babies so close together but it's doable. Your little one will be fine! He just might be reacting to the stress your under and once you feel a little better, he'll be better as well. My brother and I are only 15 months apart and my sister is 2 years younger than me, my mom had 3 in diapers at the same time, plus my dad was a cop and worked midnights. I don't know how she did it but she did.

Gather your support group together, don't be afraid or ashamed to ask for help and breaks and it'll all come together. If you need an ear, just write. flowerforyou flowerforyou

heh...my answer to that would be..."sorry, no grand-kid for you!"

it's difficult, yes...but when they get a bit older, it should actually be a bit easier. they'll amuse each other, and might end up the very best of friends.

 i heared its almost like having twins.. just the second one your more ready for.. the late night feedings the diaper changes teething and crawling.. my son was vary easy... almost from birth he would not wake up at night to feed i had to wake him up... and he also didnt cry just to cry... i hope i'm blessed with this one.. my childrens father wasnt a big help he would bark at me when i would wake him up at night to help me.. one night he was wonderful to me.. he held my breast up while our son ate and of course i was asleep and then took him off the breast and put him to sleep washed off my boob and tucked me in.. I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THAT MAN WENT..brokenheart

having kids so close together can be a bit of struggle to say the least. i suspect your little one is picking up on your stress level. kids are perceptive in that way.
he'll have an adjustment when the new baby comes but im sure he'll be fine. :)

I was almost 22 when I had my first child. Went in for my 6 week check up, I found out i was pregnant again...my 2 oldest sons are 10 months apart (2nd and 3rd and 15 months apart...3rd and 4th are 20 months apart...4th and 5th are 10 YEARS apart) and boy was it tuff. You just have to make a schedule for yourself and stick to it. If the baby is sleeping soundly, there is no reason to wake him/her up to feed him. The baby will cry when they're hungry. I got lucky with all of my boys (i now have 5)..they never woke up for feedings during the night.

I think sweetgal is right, your son is picking up on your stress level and emotions, hence the reason he's so clingy.

If your b/f doesn't want to step up to the plate with this baby or the one he has now, don't force it. You be happy with those children. They will love you more than any man can ever dream of loving you flowerforyou

P.S...4 of my boys are teenagers now, 16,15,14 and 13...and believe me, as they got older, it got soooooooo much easier. Just be patient, and don't forget to make time for yourself, wheather its while they're napping, or if you have to stay up an extra 1/2 an hour past your bedtime.

Yes you will...while that baby is sleeping (which it should be doing 98% of the time) you will have all the time in the world for your son. Let him help with the new baby too..such as, throwing away diapers, getting you diapers, wipes, clothes...etc...he'll feel like a big boy and adapt that way of thinking too.
