when I receive notices of new matches in my area from Mingle 2 I can not take these new matches seriously.
I live in Edmonton, Alberta and these new matches invariably list people who live in cities such as Ottawa, Windsor, Montreal, etc. New matches sent to me claims that these people live close to me. Does anyone think that someome living thousdands of miles away will want to meet for coffee? |

No. It is this site's way of trying to get you to initiate conversation with somebody. That way you stay on the site longer. All dating sites or social sites with a dating twist do this. What is maddening is when they send you matches or flirts/nudges of people who are no longer active on the site.

When a 'Match' is sent your way, it is because that person selected YOU as a possible 'Match' (by clicking 'Yes' or 'Maybe' when presented with your picture/profile in Search.) When someone expresses such an interest, all you have to do is yay ot nay it, a simple thing, and set to your own tastes.. not a place for Mingle2 to interfere. They might be across a continent, all you have to do is bypass it, if you have no interest. I might add that Mingle2 can broaden horizins if such is your wish. If not, you have the option to move on to locals only. |
