Well I have a phobia about needles, and the scalpel on the eye to remove the cataracts is more excitement than I can stand! You're a braver soul than me!

I've had the laser four times in my left eye and three times in my right. I don't remember much about the vitrectomy. I vaguely recall the strap, but I don't recall what I thought of it. I don't remember the Wire Speculum, although I'm sure one was used to keep my eye open. I remember they used one to keep my eye open when the opthamologist gave me a shot in the eye the week before my surgery. Glad the buckle has been a success for you! :) If you get to where the laser treatments no longer hold it, the buckle op is a breeze :-) I hear the cataract ones are also...best of luck :-)

Nine months ago, I was scared to death. But it was either undergo the procedure or risk going blind. Figured, the sooner I get the operation done, the sooner it will be over with and I can begin the process of healing.
