What do you guys think of the the Las Vegas story of the woman sueing Match.com for matching her with a murderer!
The guy stabbed her in the face and left her for dead!

It was found out later that he killed a woman a few weeks earlier!!!

OMG! does this turn you off from dating altogether??
It does me!

We've all dated nuts... I assume.. but never this level of nuttiness!!

What's your dating plan now? Keep the course... or go back to bars and grocery stores?

Let's hear it....

In the millions of dates through dating sites it is bound to happen sometime, the odds must be millions to one for it to happen to you, it will not change my plans.

It could happen no matter where you meet someone, whether it's online or in person.

All this kind of news does is make me have less of a polly anna idea that because a person is educated enough to own/use a computer (used to be a little more of a professionals only skill) that I should be a little more proactive about my own protection.

Violence has always been a part of dating and I think sad as it is if we let fear make us stop living then the bad souls have won.

I have always seen a person who sees the need to have a gun around as a bad sign and don't date them but that alone will not stop violence either. I just believe it reduces the risk of it being used against me.

I really think anyone that thinks a dating site is making any effort to screen the people on the site is deludeing themself completely. Literally anyone, anywhere, can sign up for these sites and does not even have to present an identification to buy, get internet access, or in many cases see into your home because now with the camera access anything the front of your lap top sees the world can see. The illusion of privacy/safety is just that an illusion.

It's dangerous enough that I'm dating a bipolar sufferer. shocked Kidding laugh. They can be dangerous all the same. As long as he has his medication, then he is normally fine. I do have more of a chance of being stabbed by HIM though, than anyone off the internet. Seeing as I'm so protective over him, I make sure we're both always kind to each other. As dating someone with a mental illness can be hard work, unless like me you know what and what not to say and do to set them off. It's unfortunate, but we can't lock ourselves away being afraid of modern life, otherwise every bully or every illness wins. We don't wanna become recluses. I need talk. I once was a recluse myself, but because I was ill to a certain extent. My experience showed me that not going outside only made it harder on myself. Don't let anything worry you until something gives you something to worry about.

I fear a lonely death more. I mean if someone wants to kill/murder me I must be doing something right. Envy and greed drive people like this.

Heard that on news.. and online. Um, this isn't the first. Earilest murder related to online dating was about two years ago or three years ago that a man murdered a woman from VA down in Aruba where Natalie Holloway disappeared. Well, this man according to police thinks he murdered her and dumped her out in sea and the "boyfriend" who murdered her said she disappeared in the sea when they were scuba diving.

They met online. When I saw that photograph of that woman. She did look familiar. I think I saw her online on one of those sites before. I do have good photographic memory of faces but not names.

Does it scare me, oh yes! Trust?? no so because I had bad experience with online dating.. with a crazy woman from CT whom I met online.. She stalked and all.. we sure did meet in person but..she was not for me.

I still like to meet someone from online but players and all.. forget it. Scammers too! Tired of this. I wish I can meet someone offline but its harder for me to meet someone because most people out there are Hearing and I am Deaf. That is the problem for me and I am sure for many others.. I can talk well but its easier to communicate online but I rather to meet in person first then talk online often. Thats me I guess! That is what I believe "internet dating" should be. Meet first in person then go online.. then more offline.. then marry! Thats my goal.
