It's morning and the sun is out.
The petals are open, fleshy and soft. They are arranged in symmetry, Splashy, a pinwheel of red. A wasp nears toward the black center, An invitation. He lands, wings spread. There is a mingling, an exchange. The stem acknowledges the weight. Soon the wasp retreats, head first Leaving the flower intact. The meeting necessary, symbiotic. |

Thanks Mike, I wondered if anyone would comment on the sexual undertones. And of course, the meeting between a man and woman isn't just a necessary one...if it's with the right person it is utterly amazing.
