I am 62 (63 in a few weeks), retired, widowed but not ready for the retirement home yet. I am a runner, cyclist and kayaking enthusiast who goes out at least once a week to dances ... and I actually dance, albeit like a drunken monkey, but I dance.

Besides, I've never gone to a biker bar before, I don't even frequent non-biker bars. Still I was hoping to get that checked off my bucket list. Oh, well! |

ESE is a gentleman & a former member of the United States Marine Core. Honor is one of the qualities of all past; present & future, members of that unit. You could & will never be safer, than when you are with him. He comes to give you that ride, relax & have fun. Besides ESE is a friend of mine, we have shared Jack together. |

Getting old is not for sissies or weaklings. I can still out walk most 45 year olds and I am pushing 71 hard. I can still mow 1/2 acre of grass and walk 6Km round trip into the village for whatever. I would prefer having someone to walk with, but for now it is one of my three best friends all with 4 legs and cold noses.

My gut tells me he is one sweet guy and one who can be trusted. But we still have to see if he really comes through on this. It's pouring rain right now, and he's already said he doesn't ride in the rain. I can't vouch for all marines because I was married to one, but ESE seems different. That's a good thing----I think? |

Just past 71 1/2 and feeling pretty good. I've lost 74 lbs since Dec. but now having some back problems again and a problem with my knee replacement.. Dr says the knee problem may be due to losing weight (losing some muscle strength) so I had an appt with a therapist who gave me some special exercises to do for that. Most days I feel much younger than my age number..
Don (Old Sage) You will never be anything but YOUNG, no matter how ornery you are... |

Just back from a vacation in Houston and Galveston Island.. Getting much closer to 72 (March) and yes, I did ask for help thru Atlanta and Chicago airports and used my cane whenever I felt I needed it..Not too proud to ask for help.. However, I did get to GI in time for the Longhorn Motorcycle Rally (it's huge), a nice surprise from my girlfriend that I was visiting(we were cheerleaders in high school together)..AND we did go to a biker bar, WOODYS, didn't stay long but can say we were there! I miss my Harley.. Ate some great food but got lots of exercise by walking it off on the beach everyday.. Weather was around 80 everyday! My next trip is in 11 days, going to Phoenix for a family wedding, will be there a week.
A friend that visits from Florida and goes to the Senior Center to walk on the treadmill while here, told me I should go there, would know lots of people.. I told him that makes me feel old and I'm not ready to dye my hair blue and sit on the porch to watch the cars go by....lol |

I am 53. I act and look 53. I am not going to kid myself and say I feel 30 or any other age. At 30, I could sprint; I could do forward rolls; take a hard fall without even bruising; didn't have a 50% chance of having a heart attack due to menopause; it was easy to find employment; didn't have to dye my hair to cover the grey; wasn't worried about using eye creams to stop wrinkles and at 30 I could stay up and party all night but still go to work without suffering. I am aging; its a fact and sayings like "age is just a number" or "I can keep up to younger people" are silly and it seems people are in denial of their age. I believe in being active; enjoying life, but most importantly aging gracefully. I have nothing to prove to a younger person and will only do what my body is capable of. I refuse to act juvenile about my age. I look forward to retiring so I can go out and enjoy other activities without being tied to some mindless job.
