Topic: Atlanta mom shoots intruder in the face 5 times | |

An Atlanta mom took matters into her own hands on Friday when confronting an intruder. The unidentified woman hid with her 9-year-old twins in a crawlspace as a man broke into her house and began rummaging through it. The alleged burglar, Paul Ali Slater, eventually found the family’s hiding space, but not before finding himself staring down the barrel of a .38 revolver. The woman fired six shots, five of which hit Slater in the face and neck, but he managed to flee after the family ran to a neighbor’s house. Slater is expected to survive. This story, shared thousands of times from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution website, has incited some pro-gun tweeps to voice their delight; @Jennecar writes of the story, “why we need guns in our homes!” And @kjclt1 writes, “bet this Atlanta area mother of 2 is glad she had her gun.” [Source] |

I hope he sues her a$$ off.
How dare she protect her kids! (Pure sarcasm. Something libs would back.) Next time, he might try to find an anti-gunner to rob, rape or kill. |

He looks real mean. They will probably put the mom in jail and the kid in foster care and let the criminal go free.

This case reminds me of my brother. A robber with a pistol tried to rob him. The robber asked for a cigarette and my brother handed it to the robber who put his gun in his pocket to take it.
My brother beat the robber's head against the pavement for a few minutes. The robber's family sued my brother's place of business for causing brain damage and affecting his ability to do his work. Go figure. So I see the mom being sued for physical damage to the thief. Sad but likely. |

5 times in the face and he lives? hmm. if i shot someone five times in the face there would not be much left of it, stuck on the wall behind where he was standing.he was very lucky that she obviously was using the pixxie model self defense weapon and not something big.

It is affectionately called the "make my day" law. |

I mean, to me he looks like a normal guy. Is it knowledge of what he did that makes you think he looks mean? Mostly the eyes. They are dead. They project the attitude that he does not give a chit about you. The mouth is stubborn, shows he will fight to the death from shear anger and spite. The nostrils are a bit flared... shows he is ready to punch you first chance he gets. The skin is pock marked and blemished. Shows he has a poor diet or else is on meth, very toxic. He is also very unhappy, has a lot of baggage, a negative attitude, etc. He is a wounded soul. I do feel sorry for him.... because of what he has become. |
