Topic: The same conversations...

Does anyone else feel like they have the same conversations over and over when new people contact them on sites like these? I seem to get the same questions over and over. They all want to know how long I've been here, what I do for work, what I'm looking for and so on. It's like there is a list of typical boring questions that they think they're supposed to ask.

Well if they read your whole profile. What questions are left.

that is why you tell them they're boring.

Yeah, some have told me that. However, that just tells me we'll not get along well if they can't find anything to talk about after reading my profile.

Yeah..it does seemed scripted! Just once I would like a guy to ask me something weird or odd ...a good weird or odd.. not If I killed you where would you like your remains buried!

Something like ...if you could stop time for 3 hours.. what would you do? And robbing a bank is not an option!

True conversation is an art form not many people truly master.
A lot of folks can talk up storm, but talking is not always true conversation.

People who are just trying to get to know you aren't always going to be super funny, entertaining and creative. If that's all you want, go see a movie or a comedy show.

More than likely someone is going to start off asking pretty much the same boring questions you've heard a thousand times before; where are you from, how do you like living there, what kind of work do you do,
what music do you like, etc.

If you don't like the way the conversation is going, change the direction. Conversation is a two way street after all. Or just walk away and go watch television.

I agree. I can;t say much at this juncture to complain tho' because my profile is currently blank

but I imagine someone like you probably has most or all of those types of questions answered in your profile section.

what I used to do was consider those kinds of messages as an indication that the sender did not read my profile - invest that time, and I usually did not respond - the exception being forum buds writing based on those conversations

Ok, I have to go to work tonight and cover the overnight shift and I have a very strong urge to go into the offices and leave a poopy on the floor. Sometimes I act on my urges; I am assuming I should exert some self-control. Advice/Opinions?

People who are the most easily offended also tend to be the most judgmental. A good change for 2013 is for everyone to stop being so offended by everything. Just relax, the view is beautiful!

Think of a madman laughing hysterically for absolutely no reason...I do not have this problem.

wait, the view of a turd?

This reminds me of another story, which I won't repeat. Interesting, I told it to a buddy, forgetting his wife was in the room. He told me she acted offended all the way home, then starting laughing out loud and started repeating the story to her friends.
