Men, if a male birth control pill were available, would you take it if you didn't want children at this time?

Where do I sign up? Yes, absolutely, I would take it. Unless it caused a great deal of pain.

Obviously you would swallow the pill.

Hahaha.

A pill? Depends on how it works... If it's going to mess with my hormones I would rather stick to evil condoms. I mean... I have to wear condoms anyway for STD's, so I probably wouldn't take the pill.

If I had the money I would get a vasectomy though.

However, that's not what this thread is about.

Say you both knew you were clean and the pill would allow you to go without condoms. Would you take it?

Abstinence is a perversion. It's an unnatural state of being.

This is going to make me sound horrible... but probably not. I'd rather she got on birth control. If the pill just got invented, I don't trust it and there's no possible data for long-term side effects, at least not as much as with several methods of birth control for women.

Seriously, we don't even know the extent to a lot of these new birth control methods for women coming out. I don't trust the FDA and I don't want anything tampering with... me. I like me.

I'd rather just have surgery.

Oh, hey, that rhymed.

It doesn't make you sound horrible. I was just curious if guys would actually take it, or want to stick with women on birth control.

Well... it's kinda like this. If it was an established drug and the side effects were known, then I'd be down to take it. I will never, ever have kids. They scare me.

If it came out today, in a real world scenario, I would not take it. I would at least wait a few years and let it kill a few guys off or give them some weird chemical imbalance so they could perfect the formula.

Letting her be in charge of birth control is giving up too much power. She could stop taking it at any time and not tell me. Then later say "oops." Then I'm stuck paying child support for 18 (or more) years.

No thank you very much. I'll be the one in charge of that and I don't care if you mind or not.

Well, if you're wearing condoms, you're not leaving the responsibility solely up to her.

I take full responsibility for birth control. If she wants me to take a condom off, I stop having sex with her.

But, a pill would be a better option.

I took something in France years ago, gave me a headache and blew the capillaries in my eyes so that the whites were completely red. I don't remember anything else, even the woman is lost in memory, then again she was a woman and probably was lying about the pill.

Male contraceptive would be use of testosterone. Testosterone has proven to be safe for men who take it for hormone replacement. Once stopped it would take the body a few months to get back to normal. This would not be a permanent change.
