Hi, I joined awhile ago but just got around to finishing my profile. Probably like most here I'm on a few other sites too. I have had good luck meeting some nice people but so far no one to spend my time cuddle up with :( Still life is good :) Better to be single then in a bad relationship. Wish you all the best. Bright blessings, Ms. Sly |

Welcome to Mingle!
I have an Aunt and Uncle who live in Death Valley. I visited them there when I was young. I know it's a tight community so maybe you know them? Kathy and Dell. Kathy's maiden name is Davis but I don't know Dell's off the top of my head. Anyway, I hope you find what you are looking for |

Thank you WithOrWithoutYou, I don't live in the town of Death Valley I live in Death Valley National Park (DVNP) which covers about 3,300,000 acres or close to 3,000 square miles. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Valley_National_Park My property, at the foothills of the Funeral Mountains, is a few of the 10,000 acres of DVNP that are privately owned. |

My Uncle Dell is famous in my circles for his boogie-woogie piano. I've always been envious of their carefree lifestyle. I wouldn't mind ending up in a place like Death Valley. Just scaring off the common folk with the name so it doesn't get infested

My Uncle Dell is famous in my circles for his boogie-woogie piano. I've always been envious of their carefree lifestyle. I wouldn't mind ending up in a place like Death Valley. Just scaring off the common folk with the name so it doesn't get infested Yup, the names we have out here such as Funeral Mountains, Devil's Hole, Badwater, Furnace Creek, Devil's Golf Course, ect... do seem to scare off people & it is the 4th most extreme place on Earth & it's really not all that carefree when you need to water during the Summer & it's 130* in the shade... But the view, sweet well water, fresh air, seeing all the stars at night, all the awesome places in DVNP, ect... makes up for it :) |

Yup, she (my dog) is something very special <3 those who were evil enough to drop her out in 120+ degree desert will never know what a jewel they threw away. Yup, that's a 1899 Krag all original except for the cut penny on the front site. It has been passed down to me from my Great Grandpa. I hope to pass it on to my oldest Grandson. It still shots perfectly, the bolt action makes the most awesome music :) |

Deer, the rifle is 114 years old & it's broght down more deer then that :) For decades it was kept behind the seat of my dad's pickup for food. He brought down his 1st buck with it when he was 11, the year he got the rifle. |

Aww, I was shooting the Krag & 30.06 at that age. I was shooting the Winchester Model 62A at age 4, my dad wouldn't let me shoot it until I was as tall as the rifle. I'm told he let me fudge a bit on my toes :) The Winchester 30-30 was a gift from my dad when I got my 1st buck (with a 243). |

Lot of deer in Death Valley?
|
|
|

I haven't seen a deer since I've been out here (2000) bobcats, wolves, coyotes, big horns, camels (yup camels), way to many rabbits but not one deer yet. My Great Grandpa lived in Fillmore, UT and that area is where I still hunt the most but also Kolob, and up around Northern, UT. In Nevada I hunt in the Ruby Mountains, up around Elko. |
