why would you delete a members thread

that if you looked at there number of posts

and seen it was the only thread they ever posted

does not make since to me

what only allowed to say hi

maybe they where trying to get to know some people

they had three posts and they were in that thread

the original and two responses

some delete happy people may have cost a member

interesting

very interesting

and they just may have been who you are looking for

if it was the wrong area i don't see a problem. they can always repost in the right area.

not if it is a discussion topic in a welcome area. there are plenty of discussion areas available. i don't think it's a big deal and everyone else does it.

i agree that the system gets abused occassionally but it is here to make things easier not to discourage someone from posting.

I agree with Adj4u, there new and don't really now yet. I've seen it too,but I just continue to reply.

it appears that the moderation gestapo is getting worse everyday


just because something mentions music does not mean it goes in songs poems and quotes

a discussion about music or songs is not creative


read the description of the category

and then you have those that try to get deleted by posting wrong in the wrong area or multiple times

and nothing happens

i am just curious as to how much moderation the moderation really gets

i feel if the membership can moderate the threads then the membership should see those that are moderating

it is easy to hit delete for the sake of deleting

when you get to hide from those you delete

kinda like a sniper

Well, I've seen the self-moderation thing go both ways. Repeat topics are not being moderated/deleted as "duplicates". I've been seeing this with newcomers who aren't taking the time to view old thread, but who really does? I think we're all guilty of this. I've also seen appropriate topics are being deleted probably out of spite or the randomness of some people. I think it really depends on who is online at that moment. I agree that the function needs to be tweaked. The question is how? Then we can present some solution/suggetions to Mike and Van.

I think I make a lot of mistakes on here....

funny that.. I have a MODERATE field in my Community listings.. but have YET to click on it.. I've no right to judge.. and you have EVERY right to say what's on your mind... regardless of WHERE you've posted it.. there shud be an 'option to move thread' as opposed to just wiping it out..

LIVE and let LIVE people.. man.. EMPATHY shud be part of the 'moderation' process.. but then again.. there ARE those that like the controling POWER of playing GOD!!

Personally?? I've got enough to worry about in LIFE and really don't feel I've the RIGHT to judge anothers 'freedom of expression' hey.. isn't there a LAW that gives us ALL the EQUAL right to freedom of SPEECH?

i think if the screen name was shown it would stop a lot of the malicious deletions. it could also help clear up any misconceptions that were had.
